I got cracking on my one free afternoon this week and made 30 more Metro Hoops units. I still need to attach the corner triangles and square things up, but I am stalled until the extra brown corner fabric arrives. I had no issues with the curved piecing or trimming up the little shield shapes to this point.
As a matter of fact, I am so excited about the turn around I have experienced with this project, I have decided to make it bigger! I am going to make 25 hoop blocks (100 hoop quadrant units). That should result in a square quilt of around 75 inches.
Hope you are all having a great week. My plans got thrown a curve ball, so I will be extra busy, and not have as much time to sew unfortunately!
In other news, Eva has moved into a Big Girl Bed, and has handled the transition just fine. She hasn't fallen out, and only gets up about four times after we put her down. I guess that's good?

Cheers for your success with Metro Hoops so that it’s fun again!! Hope the brown fabric arrives quickly so the momentum can be kept up – if sewing time is available.
Oh, I remember when our boys each moved to a Big Kid bed. For the first few nights they were each up and down like pop-corn because they could be. No doubt Miss E is equally delighted with the astonishing possibility of escape!
Another thing I did was make a stuffed fake fur bear rug to go beside the bed for soft landings. The bear cushioned several falls overboard, in addition to being wrestled with by day!
Hugs!

Yeah for you! Can’t wait to see the finished quilt. My ruler arrived yesterday and now I’m trying to decide what pattern I want to tackle….I love them all.

4 times is great! I have a granddaughter who is a wanderer in the night. We find empty cracker boxes in the morning and she is in and out of our room a few times when she is here for the night.

Love your blocks! I saw some gals last night working on that same pattern and were experiencing the same issues with the triangles. Their teacher was there and couldn’t offer any helpful suggestions, just be careful when squaring. How cute must Eva be in her bed! Does she have a big girl quilt to go on it? My granddaughter used to roll off all the time so she needed a bar, sounds like Eva will be ok.

Boy! You really did overcome the challenges you had earlier with this project…congratulations! I look forward to seeing the quilt
And also congratulations to Eva. Although, it’s hard to believe she has gotten this big already.
