I jumped right in and got six blocks made for the Halloween Memories sew-along. I am getting into the swing of it and am having fun so far. It took as long to get organized as it will to make the blocks. Just kidding, sorta. I am getting faster at it. I grab one of my baggies containing the block units and can assemble one in less than a half hour. Having a really good audio book is a must for this kind of sewing.
In my photo above, the black lattices really stand out, but there will be an hour glass alternate block that will separate all the blocks, so I don't think that will be so prominent once the top is together.
A couple of you have mentioned in the comments that you don't really want another Halloween quilt, and I get that completely. I'm not sure I want another Halloween quilt but here I am. Anyway, I wanted to direct you to the Jolly Jabber blog, where Fat Quarter Shop is showing seven quilts for this project made with non-Halloween fabrics. Go check it out. There is a gorgeous blue and white version, made with Primitive Gatherings new collection, as well as a lot of other great ideas.

The blue version is beautiful. It’s always surprising how fabric changes the entire look and feel of a quilt. Your blocks are great!

I just to say I enjoy your post!! I may not read everyday but I always go back to the last one that I’ve read. I love the fabric Dear Santa. But I think I have so much already but I think I’ll take the plunge and buy it to make Lisa Bongean sew along. I’ve made several quilts but haven’t posted a thing on instagram.
