Designer Mystery 2022

DM 22
Because I need another project to work on right?

This is the Designer Mystery BOM sponsored by Fatquartershop.com. The fabrics are Nantucket Summer by Camille Roskelley for Moda. The colors are fabulous, aren't they? Shades of blue and green and a wonderful cream background. This BOM and the fabric for it are so popular, much of it is sold out and you can't join the BOM because it's full.

The FQS Designer Mysteries are hit or miss for me. I haven't been that thrilled with the ones I have signed up for and have actually only finished one out of the three I joined. But then, every year or so there will be one that is off the charts in terms of fabric, colors, and patterns, and sure enough, I missed out on it. 2015, Primitive Gatherings, I am talking about you. Seriously, if anyone has an unused kit they aren't going to make, I'll buy it from you.

So, I jumped on this one because I love the fabric and the setting looks like it is going to be really interesting. What you see on my small design wall are Months One and Two. We are up to Month Five now, so I have some catching up to do.

Sad news for our Badgers. They lost the final game in the league tournament and came in second. Some of the girls took it hard, but it was a great season and I, for one, can't wait for more next year.

How's your week going? I haven't had many comments this week, so I hope all is well.

  1. Comments weren’t working for me for a few days! Another Typepad thing— that’s why you had less. Second place is great! And I guess my comment on the Designer Mystery series is now you have to also pay for a sashing kit in addition to backing now, so it’s too pricey for something sight unseen—IMHO. I bet you could pick up the 2015 on eBay— i see things there all the time— in fact, you got me to buy LETS POP SOME CORN last week—heehee!

  7. Comments are acting weird, as Carol said, so that would explain your not having very many. Sometimes the little ‘thingy’ just spins when I hit ‘post’ so I don’t know whether it’s actually going or not. The large block pops with the striped navy fabric! Congratulations to the Badgers on second place! I’m sure they’re a bit disappointed, but they can look forward to next season remembering how much fun they had this year! 🏀

  10. I had the same problems with trying to comment as others. So, I reading but not able to say anything.
Sorry about the Badgers losing but there’s always next year.
    Those colors are lovely!

  16. I love those blocks and the colors of Nantucket Summer. Yesterday’s photo of Miss E was terrific too! Can’t believe how grown up she’s getting.

  19. Nicole, I have the set of 12 BOM
patterns and fabrics from Fat Quarter Shop. The blocks are all for buildings. Is that what you are looking for? If so I am willing to sell them to you. I don’t think I have the kit for the setting, which includes some snowmen. If I find that I will sell it also.

  22. Oh that top block is beautiful! My favorite orphan blocks ( that find homes in mug rugs), are blocks I try to copy from your photos. Thanks!

  25. Love Nantucket Summer! I greatly contributed to the sell out! You are very brave doing all these sew alongs. I always hesitate as I want to have a clear picture before I start what the quilt will end up looking like. One of these days I will throw myself off “the quilting cliff” and just go for it!Halloween sounds wonderful where you live. Eva as always was adorable!
