Tidied Closet, New Kit

Tidied closet
I promised you all I had cleaned out my messy sewing closet. It is kind of meaningless to show you the final results without a "before" picture, but that is what I am doing. I guess I was too ashamed to show what a mess it was. I had been just tossing leftovers in there for the past two years and it was chaos. I sorted out all the disorganized piles of fabric into project bins and stashed the things that didn't fit into bins that I keep out in my garage storage area. Now I've got all the things I want to focus on in the next few months front and center.

What's this? Hmm, it seems to be a fun kit featuring patchwork ears of corn. This is the "Let's Pop Some Corn" kit by Pieces of My Heart. I certainly could not resist it.

Check out all the pretty fabric that comes in the kit. I can't wait to make this for next fall. Sandy Gervais is a designer who never disappoints. She now designs for Riley Blake, and every single collection she comes out with is a winner. LOL there is a world of fabric outside of Moda, believe it or not!

I am so happy to have sorted out my sewing room closet, as now I can see my project boxes and fabric collections without piles of stuff in the way. 

Hope your week is going well. We started out the week with a massive defeat for 6th-grade girls' basketball, but that's all right. The Mark Twain Badgers (Eva's team) were trounced 18-10 by the Avery Hawks yesterday. The Badgers will rise to win again, I am sure. Go Badgers. We may comfort ourselves this afternoon by baking Apple Butter Cinnamon Donuts.

  4. There is something about organizing a space that makes you feel so good…must be an endorphin release! I made that cute ears of corn table runner…it is just as adorable finished as the picture! It is at my quilter so am anxious to see how it looks finished! You will love it!

  7. I understand how that organized closet makes you feel! Last month I tackled hanging files for bills & important paperwork. It’s so nice to stand back & admire the effort! I need to zip over & look at those runner kits because they are adorable! 🌽 Go Badgers!
