I had to do it. This is the Swell Christmas kit by Urban Chiks. Do you know Moda is sold out of these already? Fatquartershop is as well and won't be getting anymore. I found one on Etsy for a great price and snapped it up. Whew. I would have been so disappointed to miss out on this little kit. I think it will be so sweet on Eva's bed during the Christmas season.
When you open up the box, the presentation is so darling. You have your instructions, the glorious fabrics and the Retro Santa appliqué. I have not read the instructions yet, but to look at it, that must be what it is.
At the rate my summer sewing is plodding along, I had better crank up the pace a bit to get this done and quilted by November.

Hope you all had a great weekend, and that the father's in your lives did as well. On special occasions, my dad often asks me to make him tomato aspic, a dish he enjoys, but no one else in the family will touch. I have come to like it actually. Talk about something retro. It is made with V8 juice, Knox gelatin, diced celery, red pepper, avocado, and tiny cocktail shrimp. Lots of tangy flavor from vinegar and Worchestershire sauce. My mom used to make it for him when she was with us, and it always brings back happy memories.

I was gah gah for the Swell Christmas quilt and did the pre-order. I share your feelings about the packaging. I almost hate the idea of opening it up. I was so surprised when I took out the Santa panel. Even though the measurements were given I was shocked at how large he is. I have missed out on stuff that has sold out before. Hearing that the kits are getting scarce makes me all the more grateful that I have one already. I love the Aurora quilt as well and have it on my to do list. Right now I am working on her two BOM’s. She did a mock up of Aurora in pink/red and I am seriously considering going in that direction. I have never made anything pink/red. I think the blue is striking as well. I love seeing your quilt coming along.

Your Swell Christmas kit is darling! It’s probably a good thing that it’s getting scarce because if it was ‘easy’ to find I’d be ordering one! My husband is a tomato aspic fan & he’s lucky we have a friend who shares when she makes it! Have a great week!

Let’s do a sew along! Jello, wasn’t that a whacky fad! I made some sort of cherry jello in a mold with cherries, celery and nuts for every occasion when I was a kid, learned the recipe in 4H. LOL. There’s a book coming out next month called Jell-O Girls, about the family of the inventor of jello. It’s supposed to be good, put it on your list. Happy Monday!!
