With the 100+ degree weather we have been having, it is rather difficult to pretend that we are approaching Fall. But I am trying. I got out a fall table topper and placed a cheery bouquet of yellow roses in the middle. If it cools off this week, I will see about bringing out some other seasonal decorations. My front door needs something fun and welcoming. I have had red white and blue decorations on it since May!
Something that always puts me in a seasonally appropriate mood are scented candles. I just placed an order with Yankee Candles for some apple and pumpkin spiced ones, but while I wait for them to arrive, I have been enjoying the three pictured above. The Bourbon Sea Salt Caramel is over the top wonderful. That one came from the Bath and Body Shop. Many of those shops have expanded to have a separate candle department, and that is where I found it. They call the line "White Barn". The Yankee Candle on the left is Cafe Al Fresco, it has a cinnamon/coffee scent that is really nice. The Root candle on the right is probably the highest quality of the three, with a strong scent and "good throw" as they say in candle-speak. It is Mulled Cider and is quite terrific. All these candles are still available and I recommend them highly. I love the coziness burning candles provides to the atmosphere in the house.
I wanted to share something with you all, thinking that you might enjoy it. My sister Andrea has had a blog called Under a Blue Moon for a number of years. She has been on a long hiatus, but has recently starting blogging again. She is very crafty, and is one of the best decorators I know. Do check out her blog and give her a welcome back.

Not to make you envious, but it’s 60*F here right now. Sweet!

It has been so hot here in the Creek! Better today I hope. You have inspired me to get on with making the “fall” move. All the summer quilts are still around. It is time!

Wyoming is slowing transitioning into Fall weather. I made a ‘candy corn’ runner last week from a pattern in the Fall Quilts & More magazine. Easy to make & it turned out very cute. I’m heading over to your sister’s blog now. I always enjoyed reading what she had to say!

I hear you! We are a couple hours (?) north of you at the upper end of the valley. With all the heat and smoke, I had forgotten about fall until I walked into the floral dept at Safeway yesterday. That is a lovely table topper, especially for autumn. I will check out your sister’s blog. Thanks.
