Groovy Quilt

IMG_2117

This is Metro Hoops, my first Sew Kind of Wonderful pattern made with their curved ruler.  I love the results, but it was a struggle getting all those points to line up.  I should really try another Sew Kind of Wonderful pattern, but I will have to psych myself up for it.  I suggest you enlarge the photo below to zoom in on the dark brown squares.  They are actually four triangles coming together and the points had to match up as closely as possible.  Against that white background, there was no margin for error.  It was a challenge I tell you.  Just about made me lose what's left of my mind.

Once again my quilter did an amazing job.  For this quilt, I thought it was all about the circular design, so I chose to have the quilting design mirror the feeling of the quilt itself.  I have a nephew who is a groovy kind of guy, who I think will enjoy this one.

Woohoo, check out the backing fabric!

This is one fun quilt.

  1. My Metro Hoops is sitting unfinished on a shelf. I would like to see it finished but not enough to work on it again in the near future. So kudos to you and hope your nephew enjoys his gift.
