It's all cleared away. It took my husband and I all day on Sunday to do it. Cleared off counters, pared down decorations, no clutter to be seen.
Man, does that feel good.
I love getting out all the holiday decorations–tubs and tubs of them. Two trees, garlands, santa and snowman collections, scented candles etc etc. It was great, but by December 29, I wanted it gone.
I know. Kind of bare. My husband was trying to find his football game after we put things away, and commented that it looks like we are moving, things are so barren of decorations. It's ok. Whew, in fact, it's great.
Nothing red to be found anywhere. Ahhhhh.

It looks lovely but I suspect in the very near future some cozy winter quilts will make their appearance as something snug at hand while reading or watching TV will be needed. I hung my Arctic Blast 4 block wall quilt and my small Winter Star (Carpenter’s Star) quilt yesterday as we had snow flurries and cold weather at last.
Due to the blasted lupus fatigue, I’m still putting the Christmas things away because I rest frequently. DH will lug the boxes to their usual homes when I have them filled. Wanna come help?
Hugs!

I’m so envious! I took everything down that I could, decorations and tree ornaments. We still have our (real and totally dried out) tree up with lights and our outdoor lights up! My husband likes to keep them up until the 12th night but because he is leaving on a week long business trip – it will all be up for at least two more long weeks. I’m trying to be patient….

We did the same thing last weekend . Like you it feels SO good to have everything put away for next year . Now cleaning and organizing closets and making donation bags.

I’m not good about taking everything down – January is so cold and dreary, so, twinkling lights in the windows and all the snowmen and snowman related items stay until Spring.

I miss the tree…but the dog is glad it’s gone. it sits in her favorite corner and she acts pushed out of shape about it every year. ;p

Our tree & decorations are down & packed away. The dog is the opposite of Ina’s…she loves to snooze on the quilted tree skirt & misses it when it’s gone!

All gone at my house. I am always ready to get it put away. The rainy season makes me a little gloomy but I am not complaining. We need the rain so desperately. How is your Dad doing?
