Viola Block Construction

IMG_2141

I promised to show you the block construction for the Viola flower and vase units.

As you can see, the four units are all different sizes, but with the right positioning, you can sew them together in simple steps.  I sewed the top left and bottom left units together, then did the same with the right top and bottom units.  Sew the two half sections together and there's your block.  Kind of clever.

These blocks are really jumbo sized when all four sections come together!  Two down and  fourteen more to go!

  1. Very interesting and the photos make it all so clear. Thank you!
Only 14 more blocks to go? That should take you until about Monday as speedy as you are! Have fun!
    Hugs!

  4. I really like these blocks. I lack the ability to imagine how a selection of colors would a look when so different from the original model. These colors are warm and crisp and I’m anxious to see the finished top.
Thanks for information on the Creative Grids ruler too. I used one for the first time this week and now must purchase.
