Three More

I have a feeling there won't be a lot of sewing going on until the end of the week.  It was a busy weekend, with time spent in the garden as well as visiting relatives.  I managed to squeeze out three more Steam Punk blocks, but that is it.  I think it may be a light blogging week, because I don't have a heck of a lot to share!

These blocks are such fun to make.  Several of you have asked me if I am using templates, and the answer is yes.  I got mine from SunsetSeams on Etsy.  I highly recommend this vendor.  The templates cost $16.03 and shipped from Melbourne, Australia.  This shop ships worldwide, and it took no time at all for them to arrive.  They are sturdy acrylic plastic, and have been extremely accurate and easy to use.  I ordered clear plastic, but there are colored plastic options as well.  I kind of wish I had gotten colored ones, as the clear ones tend to disappear on my cluttered cutting table.

  1. Wheee! What a whirlwind of a quilt Steampunk is getting to be. I’m glad you’re having lots of fun making these blocks.
    There are some weeks when life and responsibilities do get in the way of sewing time, but you can always show us your garden, home decor, or tell us about Grandpa, Miss E, or Ozzie. 🙂
    I have 4 labels to make and am dragging my feet. Wonder why?

  4. Seeing you working on your Steam Punk blocks made me dig out my Sweet Tea and Green Beans pattern and the first blocks are already done:-)
    Love your Steam Punk blocks and thanks for the tips with the templates! If I ever finish my STGB quilt it might give the Steam Punks a try;-)
