I Did Finish It

IMG_1749

I realized yesterday that i never shared the finished photo of Rhubarb Whirl to you all.  So there it is, and I think it may be one of my favorite quilts ever.  Notice the border–subtle, but it completes the theme of four pinwheels placed together, and brings out the colors used in the quilt with those larger plain rectangles. Love it!

Recap:  Pattern is from the Rene Nannemann book Home to Roost, made with modifications.  Fabrics used were various red, green, black, brown, tan and cream fabrics (mainly Primitive Gatherings collections).  The finished quilt measures approximately 72" x 72".

  1. Well, it’s obvious to me why this one would be one of your most favorite quilts. I know that it would definitely be mine. I can’t say enough about how fabulous this quilt is.

  7. Applause, applause!! Rhubarb Whirl is gorgeous and so festive in holiday colors but yet it doesn’t scream Christmas. Well done!
You remain tops at speed piecing and finishes. I stand (or sit, actually) in awe.
    Hugs!

  13. Love it Nicole! I am definitely going to make this one. I have a list of 12 UFO’s for 2015 and I made a deal with myself that I can’t start a new project until 5 are off the list. very arbitrary but motivating me! I will have #3 finished today I hope and 2 more are brewing. Lots of “quilt and bind” tops on the list. Rhubarb Whirl is first on the start list. have a great Super Bowl weekend.

  16. I love it!! Ordered the book, going on my list to begin quickly. How do you accomplish so much?? I must waste too much time or be the slowest quilter around! May be asking questions as I begin my quilt. I did print your comments, to keep with the book.
