Another Year of Schnibbles

Some of you have seen this already, as I finished it and had it quilted a few months ago.  I loved making this little project, "Whit", a "Little Bites" pattern by Miss Rosie's Quilt Company.  I used the Dutchman's Puzzle pattern variation and the fabric collection "Vintage Happy" by RIley Blake.

This was super fun to make, and so cheerful to work on during the warm days of summer.  I loved the result, and am happy with the Baptist Fans quilting design.  It is a perfect table topper size, and I was having so much fun making the blocks I added one extra row and made mine rectangular.

  1. What a cheery little quilt! Love the fabric placement that shows off a pinwheel in each block, too! I can see why this little quilt was so much fun to make and the quilting is just perfect.
    If you can imagine it, I may have more small quilts than I can use in this house even year around. Of course, I did buy the book “101 Fabulous Small Quilts” earlier this year because I adore little quilts. I’ll happily check out Pink Pincushion and A Quilting Life! Thank you!

  4. Alas, too many bed-sized quilts promised in the next year to be able to commit to a year of smaller quilts … but I do love the smaller quilts and once I get done with the upcoming bed-sized quilts, I’m committing to making small quilts … and lots of them … and most of them are Carrie’s! 😉

  7. Looks great and I love your choice of fabrics.
    I did Whit but did one of the other designs. I’d just done a top with a lot of pinwheels and wanted to do something different.
    I can’t wait to see Sinta’s parade..

  10. I loved this collection from Lori Holt, and I have some precuts, but I haven’t used them yet. I am finishing up my WHIT tonight – just in the knick of time. I have very little use for small quilts, so I always try and add on more to make it at least a baby quilt that I can gift away. I’ll do something like that with Whit, but I haven’t decided yet. I picked a different layout as well and will be seeing you in the parade tomorrow!

  28. Yes, I love your Whit and Mary’s baptist fans ‘frosting.’ I do follow the parades and hope to join one day. It is fun to see everyone’s quilts and how different they are depending on fabric choices.

  31. The baptist fan quilting looks great on it. I never would have considered quilting it that way, but it works really well.

  37. Really nice schnibble. I love seeing them all and how people use them around the house. Table topper is a great idea. I’m afraid people would never see them at my house as keeping a table too clear is something we are not good at as a busy family of five!
