I Couldn’t Resist This

I am usually dead against blog posts that show what the author bought non stop, but I have to share this gorgeous fabric collection with you.  Have you all heard of a shop called "Country Sampler"?  Oh my gosh, it is the most amazing shop ever.  Unfortunately, I have not been lucky enough to visit it in person, but several friends have been, and could not stop talking about the wonderful displays, the quilts, the decorative items….The shop is located in Spring Green, Wisconsin, and is truely awesome.  You should get on their email list so you can keep up with all their doings and kits etc.  The owner has a blog as well, and posts terrific photos of shop projects.

I have bought fabric from them in the past, and am always so excited when I open the package, as they take more time and trouble arranging their fat quarter bundles than any shop I have experienced.  This one was wrapped in fabric like a present, with a perky little brown bow.  My hands were shaking when I untied the bow, but I was determined that you should see these beautiful fabrics better.

About the collection:  it is called Jefferson County, and was designed by Jeanne Horton, the owner of Country Sampler.  She designs for Windham.   The colors in this line are so dreamy and subtle, yet rich and very antique inspired.  The blog describes it as "worn and loved".   Here is a photo I "borrowed" from Jeanne's blog so you can see the bolts lined up and the colors better.  Aren't those reds perfect?  And the browns too?  And those tans and blues?

Here is a link to some thumbnail photos of each fabric in the collection.  Be still my heart.  The shop has all sorts of project ideas (I think the gals that work there must do nothing but sew when they aren't cutting fabric for customers or putting together fabulous bundles and kits).   Love the presentation, love the customer service, and even if you don't buy anything, a visit to their website is good for lots of inspiraton.

  5. I am in love with that shop… I read every word in her newsletter… I love the store displays too! It’s a good thing I don’t live closer… I would just hand over my credit card and move in! I love the way they package their kits too.

  7. Wow! Love the Country Sampler site and fabrics. I’m from Wisconsin originally, and will have to visit when I go back home. Thanks for letting us know about this special place.

  11. Beautiful fabric, I can see why you wanted it. Did you purchase a FQ bundle or 1/2 yard bundle? It would be hard to use them they’re so pretty!
