Nothing ever quite goes as planned lately. I was all set to make the most of my week off from taking care of my little grand daughter. I was going to sew up a storm. Nantucket nine patches were going to be breezed through and that quilt top perhaps even finished! Huh.
Grandpa got sick again and had to be readmitted to the hospital. I spent most of my time there at his side, as my husband was away and couldn't get home. He is doing better, but we may have to face up to it being time for someone other than me to step in and take care of his needs. I am ready for that.
I managed to get Clover pinned and prepped for quilting. If I can steal an hour here or there maybe there is a chance this will get quilted and bound for Thanksgiving.
On the Nantucket front, I have begun stitching the strips for the nine patch units. With luck, I can put in some zen like quiet time mindlessly sewing the little guys this week. I installed my foot #57 on the Bernina, and that little quarter inch guide is really keeping my seam allowance accurate.
Hope you all had a splendid weekend and will have a glorious week! Happy Monday.

Happy Monday to you…and yes, our plans do go awry, don’t they? Hope you have time to put the peddle to the metal this week!

Having to make decisions on behalf of others is very hard – I hope you can find time for some quilt therapy this week. Your Clover is beautiful!

Clover looks wonderful Nicole. You have had a heavy load recently and the giving of yourself where needed will be the memories you will treasure. You will have wonderful quilts to accompany those memories.

Nothing ever seems to go as planned. Life always seems to throw us curves. I finally started sewing my stars together for Nantucket . 5 done 4 to go 😀

I like your Thanksgiving Clover, perfect colors. I can relate to the Grandpa situation; we went through similar with my father-in-law, except I was not the chief caregiver.

I hope Grandpa is getting better. Is another “card shower” needed? I would be more than happy to send out another card.
In between everything else please make sure that you take care of yourself. . . . we always seem to forget that when we are caring for others.

Tough decisions when it comes to elder care…hope it all goes well.
You are making some stitching progress…Clover is looking so pretty!
I can’t live without my quarter inch foot. It keeps things consistent for sure!

Such decisions are so tough – it is not easy to decide on our loved one’s future care but I am sure that you and your husband will find the best solution for Granpa.
Do take some time for yourself – stitching is excellent therepy as you know!

So sorry to hear about Grandpa! Hope things work out soon. I’m wondering about your 57 foot. I use the 37 for a quarter inch. Maybe the 57 has the guide? I’ll have to look it up. Maybe I need a new foot LOL!
