I managed to finish my Another Year of Schnibbles project for August, just under the wire. I am calling my effort "Spooky Canasta" since I used the Halloween prints from a charm pack of Primitive Gatherings "Seasonal Gatherings" collection. I made the smallest version of the project since I started late, didn't have much fabric to work with, and even less time to work on it!
It didn't take these creepy crows long to discover it.
Why is it that solid looking fabrics show every wrinkle and pucker? So annoying. I swear I pressed the dickens out of this quilt top. Things will improve with quilting, which I plan to accomplish sometime in the next couple of weeks. The background fabric is actually a very subtle shirting print by Renee Nanneman for Andover Fabrics.
If you are new to Another Year of Schnibbles, it is a Sew Along group hosted by Sinta of Pink Pincushion and Sherri of A Quilting Life. Each month they choose a Miss Rosie Schnibble pattern and lots of enthusiastic folks sew along. Go check out their blogs for the Parade of Schnibbles and to find out what the project is for September. I hope they never stop doing these monthly projects! Sometimes it is all I manage to get done in an entire month!

This is a lovely little Schnibble Nicole! I think the creases will go away once it’s quilted. I love the way you have different quilts and table toppers for each season and holiday so that you can change the look of your house with the changing seasons x

It’s wonderful!
Great finish – and you’re doing fine with time. (A couple of little birdies told me that the parade won’t be until Tuesday or Wednesday…)

Love your little, charming Schnibbles “Spooky Canasta” quilt top! Applause!!
I agree that solids seem to pucker oddly and most annoyingly, no matter how excellent the manufacturer. What is up with that?
Thanks for the link to the Schnibbles project for the month.
It’s good to start my day with a visit to your blog – other than feeding the cats, that is. It feels as if all is once again right with my little world!
Hugs!

This summer I had made a star quilt pattern that was free on the Moda site. I used a solid white background and guess what? Puckers!!!! I see I’m in very good company. Although mine looks 10 times more “puckery” than yours!

What a fun quilt! I’ve got Halloween sewing going on too. A bit of fun 🙂 I know what you mean about the solids! I think yours look great and wrinkle free.
