Just a quickie post today because I have to organize things for Grandpa.
Before leaving town to take him to the doctor, I scrambled to finish up one block from the 2011 Designer Mystery BOM, and am so glad I made the effort. These blocks are fun. And big too, so they go fast.
In fact, I got so carried away, I got down the Simply Sophisticated BOM as well. Before responsibilities called me away, I got the units completed for SIX filler blocks!
Woo Hoo! If you haven't gotten on Pink Pincushion's BOM Rehab bandwagon, give it a thought. Let's join forces and encourage each other to finish up something!

Love the blocks! You’re up to speed again, I see!
Hope the news from the doctor was all good news. I also hope that Grandpa is feeling lots better and can walk once more.
Enjoy setting up Grandpa’s cottage so it will be a welcoming haven for him when he can begin living there comfortably.
Hugs!

I need to jump on that bandwagon. I am so behind on my FW blocks and I have an applique project laughing it’s butt off at me. Having someone giving you a deadline tends to light a fire under me.
How did everything go at the docs? Is he in pain? I hope not. I meant to leave a comment the other day when you posted about his injury but life got in the way. I’m keeping you in my thoughts and send good vibes for a speedy recovery!

Hi Nicole, I just finished my simply sophisticated BOM at the beginning of the year. It’s ready for the quilter. Not sure why I waited so long! Take a look at the following link if you need some inspiration.

I’m so happy to see you’re doing the 2011 BOM, Nicole! You’ll love this quilt!
Cheers!

Good for you. I think you and I buy the exact same BOM’s!! I finished the two you are working on now, last year. I washed the quilt from the 2011 BOM and I hated how it looked afterwards. It’s scrunchy and it’s not soft at all. It must be the quilting design. It must have been too simple for the design. I also finished the Simply Sophisticated. Wow. It will probably never get quilted. With all those little pieces in each block it was very hard to get squared up, even after stitching on my beloved Bernina. I put it away with the backing and the binding. It appears to need handquilting rather than machine, so it keeps it’s old antique look. In other words, it will probably never get quilted. But at least it is put together and I am out of my misery.
Keep it up!!

No BOM’s here but I do need to spend this week finishing some not-quite-finished projects. I’m going to get busy first thing tomorrow! Here’s hoping, anyhow!

Alright, I’m with ya sister … workin’ on my FQS MBOM and I’m almost caught up. Just contemplating the finishing kit – if I want to make life difficult and change the design or just shut up and do what the pattern says! LOL!
And will you please unplug my computer if I try to sign up for next year’s MBOM? It’s getting harder and harder to resist, but I just.can’t.do.another.one …

Yeah Nicole! Glad to see that you are working on that Peach on Earth BOM!(aka Designer Mystery) Thanks for the shout out too for the Rehab:) The bonus is that there is a giveaway each month for people who enter their BOM blocks in the rehab!
I am so sorry to hear about Grandpa. It makes me want to start drinking milk! Yikes… what a silly thing to happen when doing something so simple. I hope that he mends quickly.

Hi there! I keep seeing the BOM in Blogland but where does it originate? How does a gal get the patterns? I am really liking your color choices. I just found your blog today, and was sad to read about your grandpa hope he is doing better. Very sweet idea to plant flowers at his new cottage:-)
