I know, I am an Evil Temptress.  Just look at that stack of deliciousness, will you?  Pam Kitty Morning designed this gorgeous collection for LakeHouse Fabrics.  LakeHouse Dry Goods is a fantastic fabric company and if you aren't familiar with them, you should definitely check out their designs.

This is an enormous fabric collection, with many color ways.  I limited myself to the reds and pinks, but there is a blue group, a yellow and green group, and a collection of 12 lights!  Mine came from Shabby Fabrics, ordered online.  Do check out your local quilt shop to see if they are carrying it.

Of course I had to have this for my background:

When you see a polka dot, sometimes you just have to say Yes.  There is a yellow dot in the line as well, which I will be ordering soon.  You just never know when a yellow polka dot fabric will come in handy, but rest assured.  It will.

At this time I am not sure what I will do with these lovely pink and red fabrics, but they will lend themselves to some sort of wonderful girly project.  And I am promising myself not to let too much time go by before I use them.  Right now I have them out where I can fondle them frequently in passing.

Lately my taste in fabric has been leaning towards bright, cheerful, colorful collections.  Such as Annie's Farm Stand, which I am using for my Farmer's Wife blocks.  Annie's Farm Stand is another LakeHouse collection. This panel is available from Fatquartershop.com, and wouldn't it make up into a cute quilt?

Another colorful recent choice I am using for my Birdie Stitches blocks is Look and Learn, a fun juvenile inspired American Jane group by Moda.

Do you see the promo sheet (back up there on top of my red polka dots) for the Sweetheart Houses BOM?  (Kind of hard to miss, isn't it). What an adorable applique project!  Shabby Fabrics is offering it through their website.  They also have a FREE block of the month project called Country Cottages.  Each month they will have a free PDF file for an applique pattern that will be appropriate seasonally for whatever month it is.  At the end of 12 months, you will have the blocks made for a calendar style sampler quilt.  I am leaning towards doing the free BOM because, well, it's free, but also because looking at the block for January, it seems a bit simpler than the Sweetheart Houses BOM.  I need to work my skill level up to that I think.

  1. Oh, what yummy fabrics, you Temptress, you! Here I’ve pledged myself to using my stash for a year, and you show me these wonderful Lighthouse fabrics. Sigh!
The Country Cottages BOM mystery project is sweet, but as I plan to finally make many of the cottage blocks in the 1997 Piecemakers’ calendar, I’d better not got there, too. It will be a UFO year, an itty bitty Alzheimer’s quilts year, and I also plan to make a quilt from a beribboned fabric bundle that has been waiting for years. I think I can, I think I can!
    Hugs!
BTW, your skill levels are just fine, in case you hadn’t noticed!!
    Hugs!

  3. I knew she was designing a fabric line; so great to see it “in print”. Okay, okay…I’ll go take a look. But I’m only looking…really…only looking.
Oh Nicole…it’s so good to have you back. I hope you’re feeling like it’s good to be back and that all this is therapeutic for you.

  5. Hi Nicole, I had to tell you that first…YES, you are an Evil Temptress, LOL. Second, when my LQS doesn’t carry a fabric line I’m looking for, I always go to Shabby Fabrics now. They are an absolute delight to do business with, as I’m sure you already know. I didn’t ‘join’ the wonderful new Cottage BOM as finances don’t allow right now. However, I am doing the blocks from my meager stash. I am so happy they decided to offer the Cottage patterns as a free download. I’m not very good at applique, just barely learning but I have my first block almost finished and I hope to have it posted on the Flicker group by the weekend. I have had so much fun learning how to do the freezer paper applique with Jennifer’s technique. I watched the video tutorials and they really helped me. I hope you join in. Hugs…
    PS…Your new fabric is GORGEOUS!!!

  7. Oh my – PKMs line is adorable – shame on you for bringing such delightful temptation, Nicole! Don’t you just love Shabby Fabrics? Jennifer is in my neck of the woods and oh, so nice! I must admit I do like the bright colors you’ve been using lately – maybe a little baby named Evangeline is your inspiration? (wink)
    Cheers!

  9. I am so loving all the bright fun fabric choices and happily I haven’t banned myself from starting new projects. We have a new quilt shop in town that I am the LA quilter for and I also teach and make samples for the owner, it makes for such a wonderful life

  11. They are wonderful fabrics…no arguing there! I can see them as wonderful dresden plates on a background of the polka dot. Bright and fresh and girly! I am off to check out the BOM!

  13. I have lots and lots of the new PKM fabric from Lakehouse and I have the panel and some pieces of Annie’s Farm Stand. They are just wonderful pieces. I am planning a star quilt with my PKMs and I am going to practice my longarm skills on the AFS fabric baskets. I ordered most of mine from Daisy Quilting Cottage and some from FQS. I’ll have to go by Shabby Fabrics and get that yellow, too. A little yellow is always in order! Happy Sewing!
