Some New Patterns

001
Honestly, I have not had one minute to sew since I started this new job, but I still have some things to share with you.  I recently bought some new patterns from a great designer named Margo Languedoc.  Her company is called The Pattern Basket, and she has a really nice website.  Many of her patterns are jelly roll or layer cake friendly.  Woo Hoo!  And who doesn't have a few of those sitting around?

I have a lot of layer cakes in a drawer in my sewing room, and really wanted to make good use of them.  Especially a couple of them, that were fabulous fabric collections that for one reason or another I did not buy more yardage of when I had the chance.  Portobello Market for example.  Why did I pass up that yardage?  Oh well, at least I have a layer cake.  A friend suggested that Margot's Frosted Squares pattern might be just the answer to  my dilemma of what to do with my layer cake of Faith, the Howard Marcus Collection for a Cause group that recently was released.

I went onto The Pattern Basket website and found way more than one pattern that struck my fancy!

These patterns really sparked my interest, and I hope to use them all to make quilt tops with the lovely layer cakes and jelly rolls I have managed to amass.  If you have a stack of layer cakes waiting to be made into quilts (or even one!), check out The Pattern Basket for some pattern ideas.

Thanks for sharing all your amazing weight loss stories yesterday.  I have been so pleased to take off the 20 some pounds that have been hanging around my waistline.  But hearing about some of you who have lost 40, 55, or 70 pounds just blows my mind.  What an astounding accomplishment.  My goodness, you should be so proud!  Thank you SO much for sharing!

Today is Lisa's (Stashmaster) day to post on the Fat Quarter Winners Book Tour, so I hope you will go check out her post.

  1. Love the new patterns, but I’m one who has no layer cakes or jelly rolls. Call me crazy, but I cut from my stash, just cuz. These quilts looks so happy and fun!
I am resolved to eat smaller portions, to eat more fruit, and to move more. I think I can, I think I can! Today have lots of errands, and that’s moving around so I’m on the right track.
Must sew for the UFO bust, too!
    Hugs!

  7. I thought it was fun to pop into your blog and see the patterns you bought. It was like looking at my own sewing table as I have the same patterns that you have in addition to some of Margot’s other patterns. I plan on starting the Ruffles pattern this weekend for my granddaughter. Have fun…..you’ll enjoy making her patterns.
