Obviously I have gotten a bit distracted from my Eventide project, with the baby quilts and so on. Monday before work I got myself in gear and made several of the Ohio Star blocks with the half square triangle corners.
I think they will add a very nice scrappy element to the whole quilt. Here is a look at what they will look like in the general mix of things. Just an unexpected somethin' somethin'.
To date, I have finished all my large hour glass/alternate square blocks, and 25 of the 42 Ohio Star blocks. None of the small red hour glass units.
After I made my big decision to change things up with the colors of my large hour glass blocks, I heaved a big sigh of relief and felt I needed a break from the project. Hence, the fllurry of baby quilts. I quite like my Eventide color scheme now that it doesn't scream 80's, and am so happy that 99.9% of you Dear Readers agreed. But now, I need to get cracking and get these blocks finished!
How are the rest of you doing? Do you think we can finish by the end of March??

You can finish it……I’ll be watching from the sidelines!
A sweet young friend of mine is having a baby and I think I may use the pattern you had shown….it looked quick and beautiful.

I did post pics of my “two block” as an update though, ha ha!

Gorgeous!!
Gorgeous!!
Gorgeous color choices as always…I love the “change”. I think finishing by March is totally doable. Those little stars go together quickly, it’s choosing the fabric, centers, points, etc., that is time consuming. I hope to get momentum soon. I have 5 large variable stars done and 9 small stars, with alternates in the works.

I think your quilt will be beautiful and doable for march. Love your colours. I finished all my center blocks, onto red blocks !

It’s very pretty! I’m considering not putting the half square triangle corners on any of my blocks. It adds to the scrappy look, but I think it takes away from the large stars…just thinking about it.

Your Eventide is looking fabulous! I know you’ll finish by the end of March and I am really hoping I can put the petal to the floor and get mine finished:)

I love the colors you have decided on! I am anxiously waiting for my pattern to arrive in the mail for this quilt – I am going shopping on Saturday so I was wondering if you would be able to email me the fabric requirements so I can get started on the buying end of things! Thanks so much if y ou can!

I definitely think you can~ not so sure about myself. It is what it is…
Without the sew along I would have probably looked longingly at Eventide, and done easier quilts, so it’s a win for me whether I finish by March 30 or not! I’m a little more than halfway finished which means it WILL get finished!
“Quiet Time” is another one I sigh over, have the fabric and pattern, but don’t make. Raise the roof, too!
And, Toulouse!
