Will Work For Fabric

I have an amazing arrangement with a quilting designer that I sew for occasionally.  I make quilt tops for her when she needs me to, and she compensates me with fabric.  This situation is Nirvana to me.

She just returned from Fall Quilt Market, and generously sent off a box of goodies to me.  Oh. My. Goodness.  I don't particularly like it when people show off their fabric hauls, but I have to share these new collections with you.  Don't hate me.  You will want to put them on your "Must Have" lists!

017
This Breakfast at Tiffany's fat quarter bundle is typical Fig Tree lovliness.

018
Aren't those faded, vintagey colors beautiful?  Sherri, at A Quilting Life sews for Joanna Figueroa.  You should link to her blog and see some of the things she made with this pretty fabric collection.

015
When I previewed the new fabric collections, this Howard Marcus Collection for a Cause group "Faith" was at the top of my wish list.  I love the colors in this line like nothing I have seen in awhile.

016
Do try not to drool on your keyboards, will you?  Browns, reds, tans, creams and pinks.  Ahhhhhh.

013

Looking for the perfect fabric for your next summer quilt?  Look no further.  It is French General, people!  Pom Pom de Paris.  Look at this unexpected colorway!!!

014
Simply marvelous.  We will all want this group when it is available.

The next collection was a complete surprise to me.  When I previewed the upcoming Moda lines, I liked this, but it didn't jump out at me particularly.

011
I hope my photos do it justice.  This offering by Barbara Brackman called "Civil War Reunion" knocked my socks right off my feet.  This group is amazing, gorgeous, unexpected.

012
To say I love this fabric would be an understatement.  What shall I do with it?  Every single piece in this layer cake roll is usable.  Not a funky weird print in the group.  All I need to do is combine it with a background and I will have a new favorite quilt.

Any ideas of what pattern would be a good one to use to feature these gorgeous colors and prints?

I must thank my generous Benefactress.  She has outdone herself this time.

  1. WOW!!! Lucky you – all those fabrics are just too gorgeous. I want each and every single one.
Our Guild just had their Annual Exhibition and we had two vendors both of whom had beautiful fabrics on offer – of course I spent way too much – I think I am suffering from “fabricaholics”. Enjoy the day and your weekend.

  7. Our tastes in fabrics are running right in line. I just split a FQ bundle of that Breakfast at Tiffanys with my daughter. Now we both have a Fat Eigth to play with.
The first thing I grabbed at Sample Spree was that Collection for a Cause grouping. I absolutely Love Love Love it. I was not feeling the French General so I picked up just a FE and when I got to my hotel room I was kicking myself. Lucky me that my sister had bought a FQ bundle and was willing to swap with me and allow me to make up the difference. I can’t wait to use it for something! The Brackman line is my only true regret. I picked up the new 3 sister’s instead of the Brackman and I really regret it. I honestly have no idea what I want to do with any of the fabrics I picked up but I had to have them. UGH. I think I need to put myself on a fabric diet next year. I have to use the fabric that I have before I buy more. The only purchases should be for Backing and Binding!….
Nah. I don’t think I can do it! LOL!

  21. Love your new blog header! Have we seen that quilt before? Beautiful. Lucky you to be so talented to do stunt sewing and to receive wonderful goodies in the mail. Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to seeing your creations with the different lines.

  23. Nicole, I love it when you share the new fabrics. As a new quilter I find it easy to pick out a collection that appeals, but so hard to settle on the right pattern. Please share all the pattern ideas you have on these lovely fabrics…especially the Pom Pom de Paris. Soft yellows and pinks just make me feel good!

  27. I like to look at other’s fabric, too! It gives me ideas and lets me know what’s new out there. But maybe you’re right? Do I show mine too much? Well, if I do…so what? It is what it is and sometimes what it is…is that I don’t have anything else to write about! But I do love your new fabrics and can’t wait to see what you do with them!
