Dithering No More

001
Ok, I am a-dithering no more.  This is my color scheme for Mocha Trails.  I already have a bunch of dark browns and creams set aside for this quilt top.  The change up is that I have decided to replace the caramels with aqua.  I like what I see.

The browns and creams are completely random and scrappy.  The aquas are from Pure by Sweetwater for Moda.

I may keep in some of the caramels, but that remains to be seen.  I sort of want it all to say Brown.Caramel.Cream. Aqua.  Go check out Thelma today to see what her red and brown version will look like!

Super busy week for me, so hopefully, I can address this more completely in my next post.

Love y'all.

  5. Love the blues! This quilt will be glorious!
As with all quilt patterns, colorful or monochromatic fabrics, matchy blocks or scrappy, each version makes an utterly wonderful quilt!
I will say I once made a star block using a fabric with a swoopy, swirly design and it made wobbly sea sick looking star points. That block is in my live-and-learn drawer! 😀
    Hugs!

  9. Excellent choice. I think adding that hint of color helps bring out the complexity of the piecing in the blocks. I like it very much. Have fun getting that one together!

  11. Oh my, this block is beautiful! Love the color combination. It will be just lovely when completed. Are you going to keep the alternate blocks with all caramel?

  13. I have to say I had a hard time envisioning what this quilt would look like with the aquas (and Thelmas’ reds), but it looks sensational! (So does Thelma’s).

  15. I think the Aqua is just the WOW factor that you needed – can’t wait to see the completed quilt!
