Every Thursday I check out a blog called Between Naps on the Porch. Susan has a wonderful blogsite, and every Thursday she hosts something she calls Tablescape Thursday, where she photographs her tablescape of the week and links to other blog sites that are doing the same. It is so much fun to see the creative ways folks set their tables.
Susan has a screened in porch that is exquisite, and she is always changing up her decorations to keep things interesting. It is just so inviting.
My husband has always had a thing for sunflowers, so I blatantly copied her tablescape, which featured these cute sunflower salad plates she said she picked up at Marshall's. I had to go to two different Marshall's, but scored four little plates. It didn't exactly break the bank–the plates cost $2.99 each!
My placemats are from Williams Sonoma, my dinner plates are a Villeroy and Boch pattern called Audun, and my centerpiece is from Pottery Barn. I actually have sunflower napkin rings, but they are packed away for my move (that may never happen). Any more sunflowers may just be over kill anyway!
Except for this little book of botanical art illustrations from 17th century England. Mr. Marshal's Flower Book contains 140 illustrations, arranged by season. I have to put this out somewhere! (And no, there is no connection between this Marshal and the Marshall's where I found my sunflower plates!)

You knocked it out of the park! How wonderful your setting. I love Sunflowers so I might be a bit bias! LOL! Hey, and no negative thoughts even remotely lurking on your move! IT WILL HAPPEN! Repeat that to yourself! Hope you all are doing well. Have a great weekend!

Oh I started to drool! I adore sunflowers, in fact my first e-mail address was sunflower.
I wish I had those stores to copy you!

How pretty!!!! Score on the cute plates!!!
I have sunflowers in my late summer Mary Ellen Hopkins “Hidden Wells” wall hanging. I use it in late summer because it has deep greens, blues, and of course, the yellows, golds, and greens of the sunflower fabric. This wall hanging goes up in August.
Fingers crossed that whatever is delaying the move is over and done with in a prompt satisfactory manner so the move can happen.
Hugs!

I love the look of table settings. Right now I don’t have a table that is “quiet” enough, but someday I will!

Love your tabletop. And I love Susan’s screened porch. As soon as the weather turns cooler I’m going to start working on mine. It isn’t as big as Susan’s, but hers has inspired me to gussy mine up.

Very inviting! Sunny and bright, perfect for a summer meal of fresh garden greens on that salad plate. What time is dinner? If I leave now I can get to your place in 6 hours….:)

Nicole,
What a gorgeous table and I love your sunflower plate- Sunflowers are my favorite flowers- they are so bright and cheery and always make me smile when I see them.
I never manage to plant them early enough to grow them but they are such gorgeous flowers.
Regards.
Anna

Beautiful tablescape! I am totally coveting your rooster plates. 🙂 Isn’t Marshalls awesome?! I’m shocked at what I find there some days. I’ve even found the Rochere bee glasses there. Glad you found your sunflower plates!
The book looks awesome…thanks for sharing it!
