I Need a Vacation

I need a vacation.  Some place warm.  With a view of water.  I am all ready to go.  Cute tote bag?  Check. 

White roll up cuff capris?  Check.

Honestly.  It is so darn cold and windy around here, it isn't even funny any more.  I want some sunshine.  Temps at least somewhere in the 70's. 

Today the sun was out and the skies were blue.  But it was windy and in the high 50's.  Not at all what I am dreaming of.  I wore my open toed espadrilles and my big toes froze all day long.  I know I am jumping the season, but man, oh man, do I crave some warm temperatures.

So, not having that, I started thinking about spring cleaning.  I know this is a stretch, but I can at least get warm weather ready, right?  So, I went shopping for cleaning products.  I do this every now and then so I can feel as though I am doing something in the direction of making my home ready for the days of warmth and leisure to come. 

I went to Target and picked up some Febreze, some Clorox products,  some Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner, and some other house cleaning aids.

Allrighty then. I did spray the Febreze around, but the rest of the products are sitting on my kitchen counter waiting for me to do something with them.  Tomorrow.

If I can't get away for a vacation, at least I can stay home and make my home a spa like destination, right?  Right.

I dream of myself wearing flip flops and drinking a strawberry margarita.

  1. I’m guessing helping Sara with her vacation wardrobe also got you in a resort kind of mood. It must be in the air, I’ve been doing some spring organizing, but should also get into the cleaning.
    I’ve been wanting a little pick me up and decided a spring purse was just what I needed but found nothing online that I liked. I did this last spring too and never did find a spring purse, I just kept carrying my winter purse then switched to my summer purse. That should be a crime, missing a good purse carrying season!
    Hang in there, you’ll see spring WAY before I do!

  3. Oh gosh, here in Canada, Ontario to be exact, we have been having glorious 50 degree weather which brings out the tees, shorts and convertibles, although the open toe thing is for the strong only.
    I love the purse, my recommendation is to view some photos of the Virgin Islands and feel the warmth. spring is coming….but not next week.

  5. It’s 25 degrees, foggy and trying hard to snow this morning in Wyoming! That hasn’t stopped me from wearing my new Teva flip-flops…although only IN the house right now!! Spring is still months away around here! It’s a good day to sew!

  11. Love that bag-I’ve been spying it a Talbots so I may just have to get one while they are on sale. You know, it’s been sunny and in the 50’s all this week in NH and we have been overjoyed. This is spring weather to us. At the college where I work all the students have broken out their flip flops and shorts. I’m not quite ready for that.

    What about a tanning bed and exotic takeout, some spa candles and an island location movie? Not Castaway, but something like After the Sunset? Six Days, Seven Nights?
    Who wouldn’t want to be shipwrecked with Harrison Ford, or living it up in a gorgeous seaside home with Pierce Brosnan?
    Cleaning? Necessary, but not on the getaway list.
