Basket/Fan Quilt

On Sunday I went up to Palo Alto to see my father and stopped in at Eddie's Quilting Bee, where my sister Kate and some other friends were sewing together.  The shop had changed out all the display quilts and had a lot of new class samples up on the walls.  I took a picture of some of the ones I really like.

Isn't this Basket/Fan pattern wonderful?  Does anyone out there know if it is a pattern I can get my hands on?  I got involved with my friends and never had a chance to ask any of the people at Eddie's before I had to dash out of there.

The quilt top itself is gorgeous, but look at the added details–praire points and hand quilting!

Added later:  I phoned Eddie's and all they could tell me is that the class supply list calls for "1930 Grandmother's Pride, choice number 1".  I have searched online for books or patterns by that name, and don't find anything.  Anyone have a clue?

  1. Can you ask for the teachers name and number. Surely if you contact her she can give you the pattern name and where to find it….Since you live out of town the instructor shouldn’t have a problem telling you….

  3. Oops..sorry. I did not just pick a name out of think air… I forgot to mention that Melodee Wade (the instructor named on your picture) does do classes out of Nancy Mahoney’s book and that is why I suggested you check out her website.

  5. I think it’s probably in Nancy Mahoney’s book _Basket Bonanza_ … based on Eddie’s class website. It’s very pretty, and I can’t wait to see what (Moda?) fabric you use to make it!
