Happy Memorial Day

IMG_1023

I hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying a beautiful Memorial Day.  Wouldn't you know, after I got the notion last week to recover all the patio furniture cushions, we have had nothing but cool, overcast weather.  There was even a hint that it could rain!  So all my lovely new cushions are languishing in the low 60 something degree weather and nobody feels like sitting outside.

So, come on over.  I am ready for summer even if my weather won't cooperate!  We can sip iced tea and sit under the heat lamps in our heaviest sweaters.

Have you gotten out your red white and blue quilts girls?   At the end of this chilly day, this is what I am crawling under!

I made this about seven years ago using Civil War reproduction fabrics I purchased at J.J. Stitches in Sun Prairie, Wiconsin.

  1. Well, your patio furniture is beautiful, and so is your quilt. I have never made a red/white/blue quilt. But I’ve often thought about it. Have a great Memorial Day, Nicole.

  5. Your patio furniture is wonderful with your ‘new’ cushions. What kind of fabric did you use? I’m thinking of redoing mine. ~Adrienne~

  11. Good golly, Miss Molly! You’re back yard is beautiful! What a wonderful place to go and rest with a cup of tea. Yes, the weather sure turned on us, didn’t it? I don’t mind though. I’ll have to get advise from you on recovering patio furniture. I can quilt, but regular sewing is a mystery to me. We have a number of pieces that need redone. Replacement cushions aren’t available so I have to recover. Also, we have two tables that seat six and that is way too many cushions to replace. It would cost more than the original price! Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
Where is Ozzie? I expected him to be posing on the setee.
    Have a safe Memorial Day!

  13. Love the new cushion covers! I recently picked up some fabrics to cover my faded cushions too… haven’t got around to it though. I need to have it done before Father’s Day… yikes, better get to it soon!
The RWB quilt is wonderful! Thanks for the “eye candies” from the previous posts.

  19. Love your cushions and your patio. Did you use outdoor fabric like sunbrella? I’m getting ready to do the same and I’d like to know what it is like to sew with. Glad I found your blog. LOVED the pics of those antique quits. Simply amazing!
