I opened a treasure chest today.  Recently some of my blogging friends and I have been discussing a new Challenge we want to participate in together.  I don’t want to spoil the fun by saying too much about it just yet, but I will say that I went out to my stash storage area to poke around and hit pay dirt.  How is it that I can buy gorgeous, amazing, beautiful, inspiring fabric and then just forget all about it?  Go figure.  The photo above shows just a smidgen of the great fabric I "rediscovered".  Don’t know just yet what will become of it, but my brain cells are churning.  It feels almost the same as receiving an unexpected wonderful gift.  So, get into your stashes girls, and you might just be surprised what you find! 

Thanks for your patience with the recent experimenting that has been going on with my blog banner.  My sister Andrea told me about a photo editing program called PhotoScape, which is a free download.  I have been playing with it and have had quite a learning experience.  Can’t say I have it licked yet, but it has been fun trying to figure it out!  My banner is still evolving, but at least I managed to get something relatively presentable up there for now.

My dh and I had a lovely weekend visiting our son down in Santa Margarita.  He has the cutest little apartment in a newly constructed barn on a horse farm, which is conveniently located near Cal Poly where he is a graduate student.  He knows the neighboring horses all by name and visits them often with the occasional gift of a carrot or two.  He says flies are a bit of an issue, but he is being creative in devising methods to deal with them.  We packed little Ozzie in his crate in the back seat of the car and I am happy to report he was as good as gold.  We made frequent  stops at different wineries in the Paso Robles area, where Ozzie got to frolic on the winery grounds.  I want to tell you that if you would like to meet new friends and have interesting conversations with complete strangers, just get a cute puppy and take him wherever you go!

  7. Oh my goodness – those fabrics couldn’t be prettier! I’ve had some fun revisiting the stash lately, too. Amazing how much good stuff I “forget” I have!
    Ozzie is cute as can be, what a good way to meet people! I should suggest that to my single friends!

  11. Love those fabrics, those will make a beautiful quilt. I recently revisited my fabrics while reorganizing, I pulled quite a few that I just had to have & then forgot about! They are now in a group “don’t forget again”! LOL Ozzie is so cute & I love that pic of him & the horse.

  17. A stash is a wonderful thing and we all need to re-visit them from time to time. I am trying to get mine down so I have been making a number of quilts from the stash only. they have been coming out great and it reminds me of why I bought those fabrics in the first place.

  29. How gorgeous is that stash? I love to go through mine from time to time, because I forget what I have. It’s like Christmas!
