It seems as if these baskets are multiplying. There are certainly too many to be on the design wall all together. I have to sew rows in sections, then drape them over the furniture in the studio until I can sew the sections together. That is the middle section you see there on the table above.
The upper left section is on the design wall, and the lower right section is patiently waiting its turn to be sewn together. My gosh this quilt is labor intensive. It is taking forever to sew the rows together with the lattice strips.
It's ok though. I know I will love it when it's done!
Oh. Guess what I found under the wicker wastebasket next to the ironing board? Remember that lizard that sneaked into the studio last fall? Yeah. Him. Dead as a doornail, poor devil. Unless it was another lizard…..Best not go there.

Setting small blocks on point with lattice and cornerstones is one of my least favorite tasks. But one of my very favorite looks! And yours is looking mighty fine.

This is coming together really nicely and is going to be just beautiful….All that work will be worth it when you have it together. Hope your lizzard is the one from last year…they are tricky little devils.

Oh yay! These baskets are so so lovely with the lattice and the setting triangles. I think this might be a new favourite! Definitely worth the fussy cutting x

Love this basket quilt. I think it is so worth it to fussy cut the lattice strips.
We had one of those lizards (the dead kind) under the loveseat last week. My daughter remarked that there was a bad small in that area, and when I moved the couch away, there he was. EEEWWWW. I think my cats killed him, as his tail was missing and he probably hid under the loveseat to get away from them. Remind me to sweep under the couches more often…before the dead things under them start to stink. LOL

Baskets is certainly already a beautiful quilt! All of those points and intersections to match up must really make the assembly of the rows a labor of love. Well done!!
Today is our 41st anniversary!
Hugs!

So pretty! Love the sashing, it adds so much. I wanted to thank you for your recommendation of “Me Before You” a few weeks ago… I read it over the weekend and LOVED it. Best book I’ve read in months!

Ive been following your progress on your Hill Country Basket quilt. It’s lovely and the lattice fabric you chose is perfect to set off the darker blocks. Love it!

Your baskets look great! You made excellent choices for your sashing, cornerstones, and outer setting triangles; they set off the basket blocks so well.
No lizards here in NJ but we have other critters.

The quilt is looking great. Look what a difference that sashing makes. Those finishing touches are worth the extra time they take.

Can’t wait to see it done! You’ve been on such a roll! Poor little lizard 🙁 at least it wasn’t a bat that made its way into your studio! I was at a late night UFO class and a furry brown bat flew in 🙁 I’d take a lizard any day over that scary thing!

Lattice is very labor intensive but it will pay off in the end. It’s looking great! We don’t have lizards in this part of the country, just creepy spiders during the summer!

This is certainly a gorgeous quilt in every way! The fussy cutting was such a good call on your part! (That isn’t surprising to your readers, I’m sure!!) You should be very, very proud of your work!!

How different and more beautiful it is with the latice and the red setting triangles. It would take me a year to make this quilt.

Oh Boy! It’s beautiful.
Maybe you should call it “Lizzie’s (for the Lizard) Baskets”?
