Flea Market, the quilt-along that isn't. There don't seem to be too many of us working on this quilt-along, but I am almost caught up for April. I finished my center medallion and have finished two out of three basket blocks. The sponsors have kind of dropped the ball on this project, but there are a few people posting on Instagram if you want to look at some photos. #fleamarketquiltalong. Fat Quarter Shop did do a tutorial on one of the basket blocks, which is on YouTube.
I am really enjoying working with this cheerful fabric, which isn't in my usual wheelhouse. The pacing of the project is pretty easygoing. For May I have to make three more basket blocks. Same for June and July. I don't think I will have any trouble keeping up.
You would think after having a week off and a lovely relaxing Easter Sunday I would be raring to go and eager to get back on a schedule. I tell you, it was absolutely delightful to have an actual for-real day off on Monday. Eva didn't have school, so I was on my own. I didn't have anything on my schedule and could sew all day long if I wished. Which is exactly what I did.
I have switched gears on a project I started recently and can't wait to tell you all about it! More on that tomorrow.

Good for you having some time to do what you want before getting back into your day-to-day routine. I received my ‘Confetti Stars’ quilt kit from FQS yesterday. I just love the soft palette in the 3 Sisters fabric & couldn’t resist! Have a great week!

Lori Holt comes up with a new quilt just about every week– it’s impossible to keep up! I’m still working on my Farm Girl One book. I did buy the Flea Market book, but I guess I’m glad I didn’t start– it’s a huge quilt. I’m happy to just watch you put it together! On the happy mail, do you usually buy the fat quarters of a collection? I have my eye on about four or five collections– I used to buy the fat quarters, but to save $$ I might scale back and just get layer cakes or some even have Fat eighths. I got THREE quilts out of the last set of fat quarters I bought– adding background, of course, but ONE would be fine from now on–LOL. Love your blog– I’m a bit down in the dumps lately and you really cheer me up and inspire– thank you. xoxo

I started fabric collecting in January but just haven’t cut the fabric. Your progress is terrific!
