I know I am a bit late to this party, and really had wanted to make Clover when the Another Year of Schnibbles girls (Sinta and Sherri) featured it, but my schedule just wouldn't allow for it. I had an almost entirely free day yesterday and made the most of it. From start to finish, I managed to get this table runner top constructed in one day. I made my version rectangular, and consequently smaller than the nine block pattern version, so it would fit nicely on my formal dining room table. My idea is to get it quilted and bound by Thanksgiving so I can put it on the table for the Holiday Feast.
The pattern is Clover by Miss Rosie's Quilt Company and the fabric is a collection called Foliage by Sentimental Studios for Moda. It is made up of various kind of busy medium scale floral fall prints in rust, gold, red, black, green and brown. Lovely for November. If I ever saw a fabric collection that said "November", this is it. You can still get it, if you love it too. Check out quiltshops.com and search for Foliage by Sentimental Studios.
I love this block, which I think is called Album. The construction of the top, I didn't love so much, as the entire thing is sewn row by row diagonally. Lots of ways to go wrong here, friends, if you aren't paying attention (hence the name "Clover" after the seam ripper). If you keep your wits about you however, you can achieve the lovely results of the pattern. I am super happy with mine, and will keep you posted with photos of my table scape once I get it quilted and arranged on the dining table.

Looks great. The Clover pattern is on my to-do list, which admittedly, is rather long.

Why on earth did I say “beautiful batiks” yesterday? I love this collection, I’ve not seen it before but, you’re right, it’s perfect for your autumn table. Gorgeous quilt!

LOVE it!!!!
Gorgeous! I agree with you in the fact that I love the look of the quilt, but didn’t love the process of sewing the rows together. Have a great day!

That turned out wonderful! What a great way to spend a day, a start and a finish in your sewing room. Great Job Nicole. I can hardly wait to see it finished and on your table in your new home for Thanksgiving.

Adorable quilt top! Great job and I’m so jealous of a all-day sewing opportunity!

Your runner is gorgeous! Love the fabric and how you laid it out. Can’t wait to see what you do for a tablescape.

The runner is really pretty Nicole. So happy that you had a free day to sew and ‘keep your wits about you’ so that this piece is close to being a finish!
Can’t wait to see it on your holiday table. I bet it is going to be gorgeous.

Holy Cow, you are so fast (and inspiring)! Very beautiful by the way.

It looks great! And I’m amazed you were able to put it together in one day. I would think sewing all of those diagonal rows together would take a lot longer. Nice job!

I agree this pattern wasn’t the easiest to make but your fall version looks fantastic!

I can’t believe you did all that in one day; honestly I think it would take me a month (if I was lucky).
It is going to be such a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving tablescape to be enjoyed by your family for many years to come

Very very pretty! Fall is my favorite color season 🙂
Clover for the seam ripper, you’re clever…
Diagonal row sewing can be challenging. Another reason to avoid on-point settings, I guess!

Beautiful, Nicole! I am still working on piecing the top. I am about half way. Yes I agree with you on everything you said about the piecing. I love the look but not totally enjoying the piecing part. 🙂
