Does Anyone Recognize This Pattern?

Inner cowgirl

I have had so many people ask me the name of this pattern, and I simply cannot recall where I got the idea for it.  Do any of you recognize it from a book or a pattern?

All I know is that I finished it in March of 2005.  The fabric looks as if it might be a Minnick & Simpson group from Moda.  But even that I am not certain about!   The label on the quilt says I  named it Stellar Eclipse, but in my mind I think of the quilt as being called Inner Cowgirl.  I searched for both those names on the internet and got nothing.

Help!  Anyone?  Does this fabric or pattern ring a bell?

Added a couple of hours after this was posted:

YES!!!!  I knew my friends would come up with the answer!  Thank you, thank you!  And kudos to Nancy in WI for coming up with the fabric line and designer!  Porch Swing by Brannock/Patek for Moda.

I dug around in my bookcase and found the book Snuggle Up by Beth Merrill Kovich and Retta Warehime and there it was!  The pattern is indeed called Coffee and Cream, and there were my notes in the margin, detailing what I did to make the quilt to my specifications.

I made the quilt larger, just by making six additional blocks:   a total of 16 red/cream and 20 brown/cream.  I did my own thing with the setting, choosing a concentric design rather than the diagonal one shown in the book.

The block construction was easy, and it was fun to come up with different fabric combinations.  Wouldn't this be dramatic in cream and black?  Or just think how you could use that new Prairie Paisley or other red/white/blue fabrics to do something with a patriotic feel!

My gosh the internet is a wonderful thing.

  1. I truly do like that quilt of yours and the pattern. It seems I have seen that pattern somewhere too but just don’t really know for sure. Many of the fabrics are from the group “Porch Swing” by Brannock/Patek for Moda around that year, 2005. I bet someone will know! Nancy in WI

  3. I believe it might be “Coffee and Cream” from the book Snuggle Up by Retta Warehime. But it was pictured in American Patchwork and Quilting as an adaptation of that pattern done by Monique Dillard. Hope that helps.

  17. I believe that pattern is from Beth Merril Kovich and Retta Warhime’s bood “Snuggle Up”, only you have used an alternate setting. It is one of the quilts on my “To do Someday” list. Yours is truly beautiful, and would certainly look lovely in my home. Please keep that in mind should you ever tire of it. Good luck with your Finish it Fridays, you have inspired me as well to finish some of my UFO’s.

  27. Day late and a dollar short . . .that’s me. I made that same quilt – using that same line of fabric *small world* Love the pattern and have it set aside to use again someday. It was easy to make up – would be fun to for a baby/toddler quilt.
