I have been diligently slogging away on my little cosmetics bags. And they are so darn cute! In the photo above, you can see some of my recent finishes that are awaiting their embellishments. I am still not tired of making these. Each one is as much fun as the last. I am out of zippers though, so a trip to Prairiequeens to buy more is on the agenda.
Thelma posted recently that she has completed 451 half square triangles for our Belle Meade project, which put me into a bit a panic. I have made a lot of mine, but have a feeling I am no where near that number. So, I got out my paper piecing and you can see by that stack that I have a fair amount of sewing ahead of me.
And, just as Thelma mentioned in her recent post, if you choose a too large basket for your finished hsts, your production level looks pretty pitiful. This in no way reflects my work effort.
Now, that's what I'm talkin' about. My basket over floweth.
Still, there is much work to be done.

I mailed the international pressies and cards yesterday and semi-decorated the dining room. I still need to make binding and a label for DS1’s quilt so I can fly into action when I get it from the quilter next week.

Love your bags. They are so darn cute. And if they are fun to make it’s like frosting on a cake that is already delish! LOL!
I love your dedication to your HST. By making these a little at a time will make constructing Belle Meade a real pleasure later on since the worse will be behind you.

I chuckled at your paper piecing pile and your declaration that you have to get busy on them…..right behind that pile are the makings for a couple of cosmetic bags! I know because I’ve got those same piles on my sewing table. They are addicting and I’ll keep going until the zippers run out…..I think I have a dozen left.

Wow. That number of triangles makes me shudder! But so worth it in the finished product. Especially in an ocean waves quilt!
