It’s A Wrap, Finally

At last, I got the rows all sewn together for my Jacob's Ladder/Go Four It project.  The quilt is ample sized for my queen size bed, measuring 72 x 90 inches.  You can see there is lots of  nice overhang on the sides.  No borders on this quilt.

The pinks are summery and the greens go great with my green bedroom walls.  I am excited to get this off to be quilted so that I can begin using it during the warmer months.  I am thinking of an all over paisley quilting design.

To recap, I was inspired to make this quilt when I saw what others were doing in the American Patchwork and Quilting Go Four It Sew Along.  The idea was to make a quilt using loads of four patches.  I did add half square triangles to my quilt blocks, and in total used 400 four patch blocks in the quilt.  I did not use a pattern for this block, just figured it out on my own by doing the math.  Four patches were made with two inch strips and the half square triangles were made with the Easy Angle 3 1/2 inch measure. My blocks are 9 inches finished.  Each fat eighth of fabric makes two blocks, a light and a dark version.

My fabrics were based on the current Julie Henricksen Threads of Time collection (I used her pinks, greens and browns–I had 16 fat quarters which I cut into fat eighths).  The rest of the 24 colored fabrics came from my stash, including about 36 scrappy backgrounds.
