It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

This is what I am supposed to be working on.  As you see, I haven’t made much progress, beyond fondling the fabric for the first block.  I am participating in the Web Sampler Celebration and need to be getting these 12 blocks of the month going.  The blocks were all designed by Paula Barnes of Bonny Blue Quilts, and twelve different quilt shops have designed finishing kits for this yummy Civil War Classics fabric by Judy Rothermel for Marcus Brothers.   I chose the Stitch and Frame Finishing kit, but haven’t received it yet.  I am doing the project with some friends, Lisa, Carol, Cindy and Perry.  They are all way ahead of me, but I’ll catch up, wait and see.  Check out the Web Sampler link above to see all the cool blocks and finishing kits.

The weather is perfect for staying inside and sewing. As I write this, it has been raining for days.  And days.  This is the view out my back door:

Ozzie doesn’t think much of the rain either.  When I offer him the opportunity to go out, he gives me his "you’ve GOT to be kidding" look.

  1. The Web Sampler looks great. I love Bonnie Blue patterns. I own one….hmmm. Maybe it should be on my list of things to do next!

  5. Love to sit and sew in the rain. Nothing better. I could quilt all day in the rain. Well not IN the rain but in the rain. LOL Ozzie is no dummy!
I’m thinking of doing those civil war blocks. I love all that I’m seeing.

  7. Well, add me to the list of participants. I just signed up for the Web Sampler myself. I’m glad I did, now that I see the colors of the fabric close up, gorgeous! Ozzie is just so darned cute! I can’t get enough of him. I have always liked that breed.

  13. Love your selection of fabrics and you get the best pictures of Ozzie. Quilting and rain or snow are just the best together.
    Enjoy – Karen

  15. Those fabrics are just yummy — though, looking back at the other choices? I don’t know that I would have been able to choose. They’re all going to be just yummy quilts!
