I have had a chance to try out the Clearly Perfect Angle on my sewing machine, and have to say it is quite satisfactory. There is some bit of fiddling around getting it into the correct position, and the directions are not as clear as they could be. I got it in place finally, and think it will do just fine. I trimmed it down to fit the acrylic surround of my Bernina, and when I have to change out the bobbin thread, it won't be too much of a production to lift up the surround without messing up the position of the Clearly Perfect Angle film. I tried it out with a new table runner project I started, and like it quite well.
I have a busier than normal week this week, as I am filling in an extra day at the place where I work. Not so much time for sewing. And as I had the day off yesterday, you would think I would make the most of it and get those Buzz Saw blocks put together. Nope. I spent the day fooling around, which sounds unproductive, but was actually quite relaxing. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves permission to do nothing much.
Sara is staying with me during the week, and has declared that we need to have Pizza Night at least once a week. Yesterday we made pizzas using Naan bread as a base, marinara sauce, dabs of pesto, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, shaved Parmesan, slivered Canadian bacon, chopped olives and arugula. Whew. It sounds like a production, but it really was just a matter of assembling things. And the pizzas were good. We may do Puff Pastry, Salmon and Goat Cheese next week. I will let you know how that goes.
Oh. Guess what? Remember how I lamented how terrible the Bernina class was that I attended at great inconvenience back in January? I went on at some length in a blog post about how inadequate the class was and how disappointed I was in it. Well. I got an email this past week from Bernina. No kidding. Someone either told them about my post or they have sophisticated ways of searching the internet for mentions of their products. The rep told me she was very sorry to hear that the class I attended was not satisfactory and wanted to know the name of the shop that had offered it. I had not named the shop in my post, because …well I don't know, I guess I didn't want to be too mean. At any rate, I told the rep the name of the shop and she said that it would be brought to the attention of the district manager. How about that?
Also, I have discovered a Bernina website that offered printable manuals for the different machines they sell. If you have a Bernina sewing machine, serger, or embroidery machine, you may want to visit and check out the offerings, all of which are free:

There is a lot of information out there in Cyber Space if you take the time to look for it. I joined a Facebook group called Bernina Lovers, and have gotten a lot of tips from members who post.
Have a great weekend everyone. I probably won't post again until Wednesday, as I have some routine medical appointments that will occupy me at the beginning of the week and will be out of town visiting my doctor.

Yes, giving yourself permission to play is essential for grown-ups who don’t get recess or play-time in thier daily schedules! Well done!!

I’m sure Bernina must have some sort of tracking for mention of their products on the internet. You told of your disappointing experience honestly when you tried to take that class. They’re smart enough to realize you have many readers & that you were not being malicious. If it helps others get better customer service then sharing your experience is a job well done!

Wow what great customer service! It’s nice that they are on top of things! I’ve visited that shop before and have to say it is hit or miss on their service, not very helpful.
