Let The Weight Loss Begin

I got such a fabulous response from successful "Losers" on my Friday post on needing a diet!  The overwhelming consensus is that you can't do much better than Weight Watchers for a weight loss program.  I got so many tips on healthy living, eating right, and losing weight from my blog readers!  If you haven't read the comments, and have an interest in dropping a little (or a lot) of weight, be sure to see what so many lovely people had to say on the subject.

I've decided to join an online Weight Watchers group, sponsored by Stephanie at A Ditchin' Time Quilts.  I think I will like the online support as much or better than going to a weekly meeting.  There are weekly weigh in posts, and Stephanie profiles the people who are participating, so we all will get to know one another.  I am going to get her blog link on my sidebar, but haven't figured out how to do it yet!

I have to go plan some grocery shopping and menu ideas now, but check in with me tomorrow.  I may just have something quilty to share!

  1. Good choice! I have been successful with Weight Watchers in the distant past. This time I needed medical supervision for some medical issues – otherwise, it would have been WW for me, too. I will respond to your email soon. Keep us posted!

  3. Good Luck, you know what they about the first step being the hardest, well you’ve got a plan and are on your way.
I think by writing down what you are going to eat for the day, first thing in the morning, and then not deviating, is a good approach. When you are tempted by a food item on TV or in a magazine, you just think to yourself,” I’ll work that in tomorrow”. Usually the craving has passed and no “working in” tomorrow is required. Otherwise I’m thinking about food and points all day long!
Also, I’ve recently started eating Thomas Bagel Thin bagels, they are one point and come in plain, whole wheat and everything. A toasted whole wheat with 2 tablespoons low fat strawberry philly cream cheese spread and 1 cup of mixed berries is only 4 points and keeps me full all morning. If I don’t eat a bagel for breakfast, then at lunch I go with the everything bagel, toasted, some smoked turkey, low fat garden vegie philly cream cheese, and load up the veggies like cucumber, spinach, tomatoes, whatever you have around. Again filling and low in points.
