One of my readers recently reminded me that eBay is a great source for layer cakes, jelly rolls and charm packs that have not been released to the general public. I got right on it, and found six collections I have been coveting. Technically, only two of them are scarce as hens' teeth, and I am pleased as I can be to have gotten a jump on acquiring them. The two scarce ones are what I got through eBay.
The charm packs I think you can get pretty easily if you go to a source such as Quiltshops.com, and google the name of the collection, such as "Together" by Brannock and Patek. You will get a list of all the online shops that have the item in stock. Green Fairy is also often a great source for precuts at a discounted price. I ordered my charm packs from two different sources (both through Quiltshops.com). They are Together by Brannock and Patek, Little Black Dress by Basic Grey, Late Bloomers by Sandy Gervais, and Etchings by 3 Sisters. All of these charm packs are designated in my mind to become Schnibbles. Love the fabric lines, but don't necessarily need an entire bed sized quilt out of them. Don't you love the options these pre-cuts have given us? We can have it all, and not commit to spending a fortune. It also takes a heck of a lot less time to make a small Schnibble, than it does a full size quilt. Plus, you can practice machine quilting it yourself!
One of the two items I was able to purchase on eBay is the Cinnamon Spice layer cake you see in the picture. That is an upcoming group by Blackbird Designs, who reliably are one of my favorite designers. That layer cake must have arrived within a couple of days of me ordering it, as did the charm packs. The other layer cake I ordered through eBay seems to be missing in action. That would be the new collection by French General, called Chateau Rouge. Oh my goodness, is it ever gorgeous. I think I will end up getting an entire bundle of that when it is available! I am really anxious to see this in person, so I hope I get it this week.
Such a busy week this week. All I want to do is sew, and I seem to be foiled on every side. I have such irons in the fire, I tell you!

I have a few designers that are constant staples in my stash. I think I’ve only missed one line of both French General and 3 Sisters. These are just consistently an attraction to me. That Chateau Rouge is smacking me over the head. I soo want it.
Camille & Bonnie’s lines are also favorites as is Sweetwater, Fig Tree & Co and Collection for a Cause. Lately I’m loving Cosmo Cricket and I’ve always been attracted to Brannock & Patek but I find that I have to draw the line someplace! LOL!
I would have many more if other distributors would make precuts. I prefer picking up the collections but it’s darn difficult if the distributor doesn’t offer them. <-- My daily whine. I'm loving your new stash enhancement. That Cinnamon Spice promises a great quilt.

I’m glad you found something you liked on eBay. I’m ashamed at how much I have spent on that site and I haven’t had one quilting/fabric vendor disappoint me yet. I’ve been very lucky. I did order some ‘new’ lace doiles I thought I might use to enhance a winter quilt (they are snowflake shaped) and they came in smelling of cigarette smoke. That was from a general store type vendor, and not one that just does the fabric and notions and such or a mom/pop site. Anyway – have you ever made a Sisters Choice quilt? I would love to see an example of one, since I have 16 blocks and no idea for a setting – made in Fig Tree fabrics… Thanks!!
