Since Ozzie is up in Palo Alto during the week, I haven't been spending as much time with him lately. He does come home on the weekends with my husband, and we catch up on all the affection we have missed during the week (not just Ozzie but my husband too of course!).
I spent the weekend stunt sewing and didn't cuddle up with my Ozzie-Man as much as he would have liked. He hasn't forgotten his tricks to get my attention. He likes to prowl around in my sewing room until he locates some small article that he thinks he can steal. He makes sure I see him snatch the object and then runs out of the room. Usually with me in hot pursuit. And if I don't chase after him, he comes back in the room, shakes his head until his dog tags rattle to get me to pay attention. When he snatches my seam ripper I leap up after him. When he snags a quilt block I give chase. His biggest coup was the time he dragged an entire quilt top out into the back yard and wanted me to play keep away with it. This time he managed to get an empty Ziplock bag I had discarded. I didn't think he could get into too much trouble with it and ignored him. Sure enough, he was right back shaking it back and forth until I noticed.
How could I ignore that hopeful, playful face? Of course I stopped what I was doing and ran after him. We chased around the family room for five minutes until I persuaded him to drop the bag for a dog treat.
While Ozzie was in the house pestering me to play, Sophie was outside with my husband, who was doing a bit of yard work. While she was out there with him, my little huntress caught a rat! She killed it of course (she is pretty fierce), but gave it up for a Milk Bone biscuit. (We have our dogs trained so well. They will do anything for food).
It must have been pretty exciting for her, because today she just wants to nap. I would kill anyone who woke me up when I looked like this. "Huh? Snort. What? Whassa matter?" Forget about bed head. She has bed face and bed ear. Luckily she does not read my blog.

I had been wondering about Ozzie so this post is right on time. Always loved Ozzie and my grandson Owen would want to see photos when he visited me.

I think she has bed belly too. FYI, plastic bags can be harmful to doggies if they eat them.

I love seeing updates on the pups 🙂 They are just too cute. Making me start to wish we had another one around here.

Oh I’m so happy to get an Ozzie fix…it’s been so long since we’ve had an Ozzie adventure. He’s just as cute as he can be. And bless Miss Sophie’s heart…she was just plain pooped.

Seriously. I almost peed my pants looking at Sophie’s picture!!!
Maggie sort of does what Ozzie does. She has had a few “accidents” of late and even though she has a pet door she’ll bark like she wants out. I jump up (don’t want any more spots around) and start yelling, “Little door, Maggie! Little door!” as I’m running down the stairs. That’s when she starts barking, running around and attacking my toes. Then I start yelling, “leave my toes alone!” Quite entertaining if I do say so myself.

I always enjoy your posts, just a little short story to start my day, but it’s the Ozzie and Sophie show that always puts a smile on my face. I just love those dogs.

What a funny dog Ozzie is. He loves you to chase him. I hope you don’t have many more rats out in the yard, but if you do Sophie will take care of them for you. I just love dogs.
