Pantry Organization

Have you heard about OXO Good Grips Pop storage containers?  If you have a pantry to organize, you might want to check them out.  They are air tight, stackable and extremely space efficient.  Not cheap, but if you pick up a couple each week, before you know it, your pantry will look wonderful.  I love the way you can see exactly what you have on hand.

The photo above shows the pop up feature of the lid.  When you depress the button, it provides an air tight seal.  To open, just press the button and it pops up so you can pull off the lid.

I haven't acquired all the sizes I want of these cool canisters, but you can see how I have utilized the ones I have collected so far.  I need some smaller ones for split peas, black beans, lentils and that sort of things.  And a few more of the size shown for shaped pasta (rotini, farfalle, penne).  I have a really big one for cereal, which is super handy, because it takes me a month to get through a box of cereal, and it goes stale towards the end.

I have a way to go before I am completely organized, but I'm working on it!  Now excuse me while I go clean out the fridge!

  1. Love my OXO Good Grip containers! The large one (think it’s 4L?) will fit an entire 1 lb. of flour… and the tight seal keeps the flour moths out. And they look great! Glad I made the investment.

  3. Okay. I’m disgusted with myself. Look at you so organized. I’m ashamed at what you would find in my shelves..
Love the containers and I’m off to look for them because I think the small size would be perfect for my loose tea. Thanks!

  5. I’ve been lusting after those containers for a couple of years now. I haven’t picked any up yet, the only place I’ve seen to buy them is online.

  7. These are awesome and I have been making the transition in my pantry as well. You can watch for them to go on sale at Kohls.com and then find an online coupon and with free shipping, it is manageable to make the switch.

  9. I love the look of these canisters – think they are exactly what I need. Better get busy and start buying a few at a time and organizing my pitiful, little pantry! When the day comes that we can have the pantry built that we dream of I’ll be ready! Thanks for the inspiration.

  13. Nicole,
I love the look of your pantry!! I have not seen those containers before. I better get to shopping. I also really like your labels. Do you recomend a certain kind of machine for labeling? Good job is what I have to say.
