The Pattern Basket patterns are always so good. Have you ever tried any? The designer, Margot Languedoc is known for her fall pumpkin quilt patterns, which are adorable. She does birds really well too! Do check out her website to see all the wonderful patterns she has for sale, both in paper and in pdf format.
I recently bought two new ones, one of them is "Maple",which is shown above. I want to do some kind of table runner in deep rich fall colors. I have a layer cake that I think would be perfect. It is an older one by Deb Strain that I have had around for a few years. It would be so pretty for Thanksgiving.
This is the other pattern I got:
This is "Sunkissed". If you want to see this pattern made up beautifully, check this link to Thelma's blog to see what she did with it. It is pretty spectacular. The block looks so simple to piece, with no seams to match up.
That's all I have for today. 104 again, and luckily we kept our power all day. No rolling blackout, as was threatened. Homeschool went well. We bought a globe and are learning the continents and oceans. Hope it is a heck of a lot cooler wherever you are.

I have yet to make a quilt from one of her patterns, although I always admire them. In fact, I have one of her patterns from 2006 called Vintage Rose that I just had to buy – but still haven’t made it!
I’m looking forward to seeing your Maple blocks and can imagine that they will be fun to make.

Oh my heavens, I have that same Deb Strain fabric. I got it right after I began quilting. I also have a Pattern Basket pattern, one called Candy Wrappers, which I’ve only made one block with. It’s a really cute pattern and I’d like to use it for Christmas placemats or a table runner. Our temps in mid-Mich are unseasonably cool, though I hesitate to say that to someone suffering through 100+ temps and potential rolling blackouts. (I wore jeans and a long sleeve top on my walk last night). I’m glad your schooling w/ Eva is going well – my grandson begins online kindergarten next Wednesday- 6 or 7 hours of sitting at a desk and zooming w/ his teacher and class. I don’t envy teachers. This is going to be hard. (Not to mention that I think it’s ridiculous to expect a 5 yr old to sit at a desk for 6 to 7 hours, 5 days a week, but that wasn’t the teacher’s call.)

Still lots of smoke around the Creek this morning. This is just so upsetting on so many levels. I did finish a baby quilt and got it in the mail yesterday for my nephew. That was a happy moment. Have a good day!

The layer cake of Fall colors will be really pretty made up for the ‘Maple’ pattern! An actual globe to study geography sounds great–so much more interesting than staring at a computer screen! Here’s hoping you have another full day of electricity! Stay well!
