Finally finished! I got the borders on this quilt top at last and am so happy with the results. This was a summer block of the week sew-along called Comfort and Blessings by Piecing the Past quilts. And it was free! If you want the pattern now you can get it, but there is a charge. The shop is finishing up a fun summer row quilt right now, which you can see on their website. Next week I understand they are sponsoring a new fall sew-along, so check out their website for information. You might as well sign up to receive the weekly patterns while they are free, even if you don't have time to make the quilt right now.
So, here are the details of my quilt. I reduced the block size down to 6 inches finished (from 9"). I just like the look of a smaller block. In a few cases, the math was too tricky for me, so I substituted other blocks in the 6" size. The finished quilt size is 70 x 80". I did a diagonal setting with alternate plain blocks. Fabrics were from my stash, except I did need to buy more cream prints in the exact shade I wanted to use.
I had a lot of fun making this quilt. The weekly blocks were just the distraction I needed from COVID-19.
Hope all of you in the States had a nice Labor Day Weekend. Can I put out the pumpkins now?

Your quilt looks great! I’m not a fan of large blocks either. I’m did a mystery quilt for my quilt guild a few years ago and one member called me to say she needed to drop out. She said that 2 1/2 squares and HSTs were way too small for her to work with. So funny, at least to me…..
I just signed up for the fall block though I shouldn’t start anything else as there’s a closet full of tops waiting to be quilted. Thanks for sharing!

Not a fan of small teeny blocks but 6-inch anything was where I started in quilting, stars, bars, strips. Must thank you for your blogging work over the summer. Some of my blog reading went by the wayside during Covid. But yours, everyday, was one to look forward to and I have really enjoyed it. It kept my quilt pot going when Covid was truly a blight on the land. I’m handling it better now, like all of us, getting used to masks, distancing, etc., and just plain not being so terrified. It took some time and distraction to realize I could pursue my interests and still avoid mass socializing. I do miss my quilt groups though. Thanks again for the assistance. Who knew we could survive 6 mos. and many losses, and still mush on.

Beautiful, Nicole and I especially like the pops of red that really show up. I’ve started Hocus Pocus. My fabrics are gorgeous, but I don’t love having to go back and forth between the 2 patterns. I wish when she wrote the runner pattern that she would have started new. Oh well, I’ll manage!! Emma started grade 7 today so the house will be more quiet than it has been in months!!

Beautiful! I would be doing the opposite, sizing UP 6″ blocks to make a bigger quilt faster, LOL!
Put out the pumpkins if it’s under 100 degrees…:) I was just looking at some yummy pumpkin desserts on Pinterest!
