Pretty Much a Perfect Day

IMG_4512

Yesterday was pretty much my idea of a perfect day.  I finished up my little friendship blocks, and will sew them together today after I switch out a block or two that I don't like.  There will be a sweet little pieced border on this, and a final outer border.  I am thinking it will be the perfect size for my coffee table when finished.

And then I made bread.  Yes I did.  I wish you could smell my kitchen right now.  I have a bread machine that made the process so simple.  The machine is made by a company called Zojirushi.  It works great every time.

So, I have been quietly resting all week, with my husband away and my decorations all pretty.  The house is silent except for Christmas  carols playing softly in the background, and I have an entire loaf of bread I can eat by myself.  And no more foot pain.

Here is a photo of my upstairs Christmas tree, looking into my sewing room.  I have my three recently finished mini quilts hanging over the railing on the landing.  If you enlarge the photo you can see so many details of the things in the picture.

Hope your week is going as well as mine is!  I am sure adjusting well to not working.  lol

  4. The friendship stars are very cute. I am busy trying to get ready to mail gifts. I always try to do it by the 10th but it looks like it will be Monday this year and a day late. Your house looks great and I am super glad you are on the mend Nicole!

  10. That loaf of bread looks wonderful! I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling well enough to be up & doing things once again! And, congratulations for adjusting so well to not working! It’s rough but someone has to do it!

  13. I’ve been away from the computer for a bit and missed hearing about your foot. Glad to hear that seems to be recovering. I have no business baking bread today, but gosh that loaf looks good.

  19. Glad you are on the mend! Your loft is so pretty! We have a bread machine in storage right now and once in awhile we make the frozen Rhides bread. We like it pretty well. And yes, that smell, so heavenly. I love a snack of toasted homemade bread with lots of butter to dip in hot chocolate, had that a lot growing up. Enjoy your day Nicole. I am freezing here in WI and wonder now why in the heck did I leave AZ???

  22. So glad you had a perfect day! Don’t know what looks better your little friendship star blocks, your yummy bread or your sweet little minis … I think I love them all.
BTW did you know that Kim Diehl will release a bunch of her Simple Whatsnot patterns next year in a book? I’ve seen it on her instagram page and thought of you. Perhaps it’s something for you but I don’t know if you don’t have already a bunch of the patterns in the book.
