Sampler Quilt Top Finished

I finished my Sampler Quilt that I have been working on with Lisa!  I am a day late, but at least I have finished something.  I am very happy with the way this top turned out.  I used the Chocolat fabric line by Three Sisters for Moda.  Of course I had to add in a few extra fabrics from other collections, but I was pretty true to Chocolat.  I think this one may go in my living room once I get it quilted.  The colors are nice and subdued, which I think works well when using quilts in a decorating scheme.

Please go to Lisa’s website, Stashmaster, and see her beautiful finished sampler.  She incorporated sixteen blocks into her quilt, whereas I only used twelve blocks.  I used the same background fabric in all of my blocks and Lisa experimented with using different darker prints for her backgrounds in each block.  I love the way each of our quilts turned out, don’t you?  So different, yet, if you look, you can identify many of the same blocks in each of our projects.  Lisa used the Cinnamon Stars group by Fig Tree for Moda.  She said she is going to send me her leftovers, so now I am wracking my brain trying to think up what I should do!

The only reason I was able to finish my quilt top this morning was because my new puppy, Ozzie, seems to be settling in to our household and our routine.  He actually crawled into his puppy crate, all on his own for an hour long nap!

Now he is playing with his dinosaur squeaky toy, which is his second favorite, after the racoon.  No, actually he likes biting my toes best.

Yesterday was quite a day.  Lots of potty accidents, lots of naughtiness.  But today is going great.  No piddles on the floor so far, and he seems much calmer.   I think he is going to be a wonderful friend to me.

    Ozzie is sure cute. I love these new pictures of him! Glad that he’s not as demanding of your time today. What a sweet new friend you have!

  17. I love your sampler quilt! I have to admit that I am not usually fond of sampler type quilts, but yours is simply beautiful. I like the way you added the stars to the sashing. It is such a classy quilt! I love the pictures of Ozzie – he is soooo cute!

  23. The quilt is gorgeous. You’ve made a very elegant quilt out of the Chocolat fabric line which I thought was sort of country. I made one too but it definately has a country feel to it. Good job.

  29. Love the quilt and that puppy is a heartbreaker. Having recently lost our 17 year old dog it is quiet around here but I am not ready for a puppy.
