Eva had no school yesterday due to it being declared a "Snow Day". Many people who live at a higher elevation from us got tons of snow and were not able to get out of their driveways or get through the icy/snowy roads, so school was canceled. If the teachers and kids can't get there and the substitutes can't either, I guess there isn't much point in keeping the school open.
We've been so lucky not to have any snow stick at our elevation, but just 100 or so feet higher than we are, people got loads of snow. My daughter Sara, who lives near Yosemite National Park lost power and has no phone service. She really lives just about off the grid and this happens every time there is "weather". This time she kept her internet, which is good because she works from home.
Eva and I had a lovely day. We made Earl Grey Tea Cookies, had a tea party, went to Starbucks for hot cider, and played board games. It was really quite lovely. The cookies were easy and very good. The tea flavor could have been stronger, but I can tweak that next time I make them.
Lots of work coming up this week, so I am not sure if I will get my Don't Fence Me In blocks sewn together after all. Maybe this weekend.
Hope you are all having a good week and are having better weather than we are.

We moved to Maine last fall and after initially having an easy winter, we are now completely buried! Hard to see this melting before August—LOL, Nothing stops these people though— I’m sure they never heard of a snow day. Love hearing about Eva’s and your days together and hope you can get the Fences sewn together sewn. I bought the Lucky Charms fat quarters based on your quilt but I have a different plan— they are exquisite. Xoxo

I wondered if you were having snow, but for students, anything that makes a snow day is welcome. We used to camp at Tioga Pass in summer. The pass was always closed in Winter for deep snow but everything must be completely buried with this unusual snowmaggedon. I can picture it as Tioga Pass is 10,000 feet up. Count your blessings with no-snow, glad Eva was with you.
