I took my trusty Singer Featherweight with me up to Andrea's and managed to get ALL my blocks completed for the Celebrity Stunt Sewing Gig I am involved in currently. What do you know. I did more than just eat all weekend long.
Wish I could show you the blocks, but shhh, they are top secret for now.
All I will show you for now is the strip sewing I did prior to making the blocks. I will also tell you that Rouenneries by French General for Moda is THE MOST GORGEOUS FABRIC GROUP TO COME OUT IN AGES. Ooops. Sorry. Didn't mean to shout.
Easy sewing for this project. You are all going to want to make this quilt when the pattern is available. Trust me.
Go check out Fatquartershop.com. I think the jelly rolls and some other pre-cuts are available. You really want to get your hands on this fabric.
Just a little hint of things to come—a Very Famous Entrepreneur and Fabric Designer Extraordinaire has contacted me to say that she would like to send me something for a Give Away on my blog. I hope that event generates more comments than I have been getting here lately!!! Seriously, this is going to be FUN. More details to come.

I’m intrigued but don’t want to order the fabric for this quilt until I know exactly how much and what is needed. I love this line too! (btw–your quite the teaser!!)

You’re so lucky getting to sew with the Rouenneries fabric, can’t wait to see the finished quilt. I would love to own a feather weight someday. Do you like it?

Hi Nicole,
I’m so happy for you to be stunt sewer…if I had to choose one (if I were a quilt designer – heehee), I’d certainly choose you!
And yes, I admit that I’m a tiny bit envious about you having the chance to work with Rouenneries yet. I love this collection. It will be perfect for my living room. And my bedroom. And…well, I think I would even use it for the dog basket (for when my sister’s dog stays with us)…;O)
Can’t wait to get my hands on the fabric – it would be great to combine with some vintage linens (I believe they have the same red) & some redwork…
It’s also great to hear that you finally found some time to relax after your horrible asthma attack & all the work…!
Take care,
Julia

I’m curious, how did you get your “stunt sewing” opportunities? I think it is great that you were picked because I like seeing what you come up with.
I also just love anything you post about Ozzie!

I envy you, sewing for a fabric/designer “Big Wig”, and using new fabric. Can hardly wait to see the finished product, October is looking like it’s a long ways off.

OH, you lucky, lucky, lady! Tho luck has nothing to do with it…you are extremely talented and creative, so I can totally understand why a Celebrity designer would ask you to make something for her. That new fabric line looks so pretty…can’t wait to get it!

You are killing me! I have been lusting after that fabric anyway… you are just making it worse. Is one jelly roll enough or should I stock up/go crazy/buy it all?

Without a doubt, buy it all. It is the best stuff out in ages. The pink is
more of a faded red, and with the taupes and soft sagey greens, this will go
with everything. And shoot, if it clashes with something, redecorate! I
love it that much!

I was looking at this line yesterday in Hancock’s new catalog, Nicole — and dreaming of how I could redecorate with it! How fun that you’re doing some stunt sewing with it – see me drooling on the monitor – LOL!
Cheers!

Can’t wait until you are able to reveal the blocks and quilt pattern. I’m sure you would have hundreds of comments each time if we on this end would comment and not just read and then bounce to check on another blog 🙂

I can’t wait to see this quilt you are making. I won’t buy any of the fabric until I see what it is you are using – jelly rolls, layer cakes or ????

Cant wait to see what you are up to. Rouenneries (I had to cut and paste that from your post. I cant spell 🙂 ) is not my usual style but I have really loved what I have seen. I think a Jelly roll may be in order. Glad you enjoyed your relaxing weekend

Oh, I’m curious! Very keen to work with that fabric too, everything I’ve seen so far looks fab!

Nicole, what fun to be doing celebrity work again and working with all their gorgeous fabrics. I had a peek at the Rouenneries on FatQuarter Shop. It really is a nice collection. Have fun!
BTW, your blog is on my reader, so I won’t miss anything. I enjoy your posts about your life and that cute little Ozzie. I’m up the road a couple of hours, so it’s fun to read about your escapades in an area that is somewhat familiar to me.
I’ll be looking forward to the quilt pattern reveal. I sew voraciously, 99% from stash. That is stash spelled s-c-r-a-p-s. With the econ as it is and on SS, I’m thankful even for the uglies. ;-p

I have been waiting for this fabric. I think I know exactly where I will put this quilt when it is made, and it is staying home and not being given away! Sometimes you just gotta do one for yourself! Thanks for the giveaway…by the way, I just won a brand new Juki last night at the Honey Run Quilt Sampler Party, so my luck is running high! xo Pam in chico

when ever new fabrics come out i wait and wait and wait. I did tell you I am not very patient person. But I will certainly be ordering some of the new Rouenneries range and have a project in mind for it. My project will takle a bit of fabric so I can feel a purchsaing spree coming on.

My little quilting group is going shopping tomorrow, and Rouenneries is on my list. I have seen pics in a variety of places, and I think those alone look fabulous! Can’t wait to touch and feel in person!

I have my fat quarter pack of rouenneries and have been playing with it a lot and trying to decide on a pattern. Do you consider this an old fashioned type of fabric or a contemporary fabric. Some people think the creams, tans, and greys clash, but I think I like all the tones together. I’m hoping to get at least two major projects out of the bundle.

Oh, you’re killing me! I can’t wait to see what you’re working on! That French General fabric is so gorgeous. I’ve ordered some, and can’t wait for it to arrive. I have a feeling it’s going to be love at first sight (and touch)!

I’m so glad you got some sewing in, it does a soul good! I’m liking the looks of this project!
I’m more excited to know that you’re going with Gobble, Gobble for your Schnibbles. I’m sick and tired of chasing that $%^& turkey all over my design wall. I’m beginning to think I chose a poor family of fabrics for this pattern. I just can’t come up with something that looks good AND that I like. I’ll be eager to see what you come up with!

Congratulations! You must be thrilled!!! Honey Run is my favorite booth at
PIQF, but I have never been to the shop. They use fabric in the most
beautiful ways.

I’ve gotten some of the wovens, not quite sure what to make, but I do think some sewing accessories are in order. I think I’ll have to put some French accents on them…can’t wait to see your stunt work!
