Somebody’s Been Busy

And that would be Debbie, of Prairie Queen's Quilt Shop in San Jose, CA.  Debbie does my quilting for me, and she just finished three quilts, each one prettier than the next!

001
Madeline, in my hands already!  And look at the beautiful feather quilting design.  This is my adaptation of a Miss Rosie Schnibbles pattern called Madeline.  Fabric is Rouenneries by French General for Moda.

002
Prairie Paisley, just in time for the 4th of July.  Prairie Paisley is the fabric collection, designed by Minick and Simpson for Moda.  Pattern came from a Better Homes and Gardens American Patchwork and Quilting Summer 2008 magazine.

003
And Moor Is Moor, made with Wuthering Heights fabric by 3 Sisters for Moda.  Pattern is Summer Winds, a Miss Rosie's Quilt Company offering.  A prettier color combination could not be found.

And now I am the one who is going to be busy, sewing the bindings on all these quilts….

  1. Yes. They are all gorgeous! These were wonderful as tops but the quilting just finishes them off beautifully. I recently took a class with Harriet Hargrave and was chatting with her on how we leave too many tops with out a good finish and this just proves the point.

  5. How can I choose a favorite? They are each absolutely gorgeous! I always love to see the finished produce – when the quilting is complete. Thanks for showing them on your bed. It makes it easy to visualize one on mine! I’d better get busy – need to clean the sewing room first, though.

  11. The quilts are lovely, Nicole. It looks like your quilter used a pantograph on Madeleine – any chance of finding out the name of that particular pattern?

  21. I am stunned by just how beautiful each of the quilts is, and by how much it must have cost to have three quilted at once! Our addictions can be expensive. Love your work as always.

  25. Beautiful. The only okay thing about sewing on bindings in the middle of summer heat is sitting underneath a ceiling fan–here’s hoping you’ve got one to sit under!

  27. I remember how you struggled finishing up your Prairie Paisley project, how wonderful to have it back home just in time for the 4th of July!
Summer Winds, a great pattern for any family of fabric, I’ll need to keep that on my radar since I’m sure Wuthering Heights fabric is impossible to find.
    Madeline looks wonderful wearing feathers!
Love them all. I’ve never gotten more than one quilt back from the quilter at a time, what a jackpot!

  29. All 3 are beautiful. Love the feathers on Madeline. I have Aster Manor set aside for Summer Wind and hope it looks half as good as your fabric choice.

  33. Now isn’t that funny! I visited San José in May and stayed there with a dear friend of mine. And I even visited the Prairie Queen’s Quilt Shop three times in the two week we were there.
    Your quilts look stunning!

  35. I simply cannot decide which of those is my favorite… I want all three! And the quilting is absolutely beautiful. Now you need more beds to put all those stunning quilts on!
