Just a quick update that my green string blocks are all done. This is how the blocks will be arranged in the quilt top. A center red block with surrounds of yellow blocks, then green blocks, then blue blocks, then more red blocks.
I am well into finishing the blue blocks and then will start on the mammoth task of making all the red ones. I am getting just a teensy bit bored with this project, so I want to continue on and get it all wrapped up. It is a good project for listening to an engrossing audio book, I will say that.
I have been listening to Anne Tyler's Clock Dance.
The story is Anne Tyler's typical style. A private glimpse into a person's domestic life, warts and all. So far, Willa, the main character seems to be sleep walking through her life despite some significant dramas. I am pretty sure any minute now something significant must happen to wake her up….
Hope you all enjoyed a nice weekend. It is a three day holiday for us here in the US, as we honor Martin Luther King's birthday.

Your greens & yellows look terrific next to each other! Can’t wait to see the blues make their appearance!

Looking good!
I can listen to music as I sew, but lose the gist of the plot when listening to audio boooks.
Hugs!

Clock Dance is not Anne Tyler’s best. (I’ve been a Tyler fan for many years — Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant and Accidental Tourist were wonderful. Her more recent Spool of Blue Thread hearkened back to those earlier novels.) My college fraternity colors are red, buff, and green –your string blocks go right along with that!
I just began listening to Three Things About Elsie. It’s charming.

Anne Tyler is one of my favorite authors. Ladder of Years was my favorite. Clock Dance might be pushing that one to second. Well, maybe a tie. I loved it!
My friend read it and said she was angry…until the last page 🙂 Then my sister started to read some of my Anne Tyler books and couldn’t even get going. She prefers the suspenseful novels.
Your string quilt is looking so wonderful. I’m enjoying watching the process with your quilting. Mine seems rather chaotic by comparison. Ha!

I ordered this pattern and received it over the weekend. It will be a while before I start it, though. I’ll enjoy watching your progress. I’m listening to “People of the Book” now… very good! I’ll have to add the Anne Tyler book to my list.

Not a fan of Clock Dance, but love your string blocks! Just finished Indianapolis by Lynn Vincent, it was a good one. Starting Carnegie’s Maid today. Hope you have a great Monday, it’s sunny here.

Love how your blocks look but they are a lot of work!
IVe almost finished up one WIP (only a few more stitches on the binding) and then I’ll make a few sring blocks as a reward for finishing the quilt. But I’m not using a pattern just plain old string blocks I don’t wanna overthink this one.

I love the quilt. You always seem to choose colorways that I like.
I just finished reading The Winter Sisters by Robin Oliveira. Very suspenseful, but not scary. I couldn’t put it down.

Keep up the good work. It will be worth it in the end.
