The Case of the Orange Shoe Murders

It happened again Dear Readers.  I fell asleep in front of the TV, with my husband dozing in his chair across the room from me.  While we were snoozing, some fiend entered the premises and murdered another one of my orange shoes.  Here is one of the crime scene photos.

The Coroner reports that this sandal is quite dead, but hopefully did not suffer too much at the hands of it's murderer.  Sob.  I loved that little sandal.  You may have figured out that I love shoes in general, but even though I have many, the orange ones I tend to gravitate to in summer are my favorites.

Who is this creature who is sneaking about executing poor innocent orange shoes?  It must be the same individual who committed the Double Orange Shoe murder in March of 08.  Why orange?  Tell me, what can we do to protect ourselves?

Ozzie has no idea either, but just to be sure, the Sheriff's Department has him scheduled for a polygraph today.

  5. Obviously the orange shoes are the culprit. I believe the they are slowly but surely sneaking around on their own in some dastardly plot. Poor Ozzie is likely the only sharp observer of their scheming and has had to pounce upon them to protect all.

  11. Well, it’s kinda hard to see his eyes to see if he is the guilty one 😉 but he’s so cute that it doesn’t matter.
    He did do a number on those shoes though!!

    still – this is America and we are innocent until proven guilty … maybe the forensic pathologist will be able to match up the tooth marks with Ozzie’s invisible evil twin … and there oughta be some kind of DNA evidence in all the slobber that will clear the little guy of any wrongdoing

  65. Dogs and shoes. . .shoes and dogs. . .it’s just the way it is! On the bright side, my drip system has remained intact for nearly a year and my garden hoses have their nozzles and are bite free. There is hope. Poor Oz, he doesn’t stand a chance against those orange chew toys, I mean shoes!

  67. as we say on this side of the pond ‘Butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth’ – my youngest just exclaimed ‘What a little monster’ and she adores dogs – but to a house of shoe lovers he’s just committed the ultimate crime – well except for chewing fabric that is :o)))

  75. I feel for you. I had a cat that would “mark” my red shoes and only the red ones. I had to throw away four pair. I had to stop buying them. The cat is gone and I still don’t buy red shoes. Funny how I get into our habits. Good luck with the shoe problem. Take care and God bless, Cory

  79. Sorry, after all you have put up with over those dogs, they would have been gone before now at my house. I have a Mini. Schnauzer and I’ve about had it with her keeping me awake at night flopping around on the bed. I guess after having had 6 kids, I sure don’t need anymore. BUT, to tear up expensive shoes more than once, no way!!!! Gosh, darn, you love the little guys on one hand, but on the other…

This post made me laugh till I had tears rolling, it reminds me so much of my little ‘Daisy’, no longer with us but the only dog I ever had that thought shoes were delightfully delicious her entire life…though she didn’t have a color preference, just a style, she loved sandles the most but would not turn her nose up at sneakers either…Tell Ozzie, he really must practice up looking innocent **wink**
