Weekend Project

I spent Saturday playing around with some pretty fabrics by Joel Dewberry (Westminster).  The fun part of these blocks is that the seams do not match up on purpose.  The strips are cut 2 3/4" and 2 1/2", sewn into strip sets, then cut out with the use of a 6 inch square ruler.

I’d like your opinions on the use of the striped fabric.  Does it make you dizzy, or is it kicky and fun?   I plan to add a containment border, and then a wider border that is super calming.  Look at this border fabric, isn’t it gorgeous?

  3. The stripes are great!! Stripes and plaids add so much visual interest to a quilt, IMHO.
Can’t wait to see it finished.

  13. My first thought, before I even read your post, was how fabulous the stripes were – really make the whole top bubbly and fun. I love using stripes and plaids in quilt blocks. I think doing it every other block here was just perfect!

  15. Love these fabrics and love the border fabric especially. I have never tried any of these fabrics from this designer so I guess I’m going to have to take another look.
